I hummed, “So we’ll see you there?” I asked my wolf, “Any hints for me here? She’s a type of shifter.” Oden snorted, “Her other half is amused by me and keeps chuckling. I sense a lot of love for mate, but I got nothing.” Odd.

Kingsley smiled, “I’ll be seeing you, but you won’t be seeing me.” Melanie said, “I uh… actually needed to talk to you… about some… other stuff… and things.” I laughed at my mate’s adorable way of saying she couldn’t talk about it with me standing here.

I offered, “I can do my space unheard chant for you guys, and you can talk while I’m over there.” I pointed to a spot in the corner. Melanie kissed my cheek saying, “Thanks, Xander.” I did my chant for them, adding the part where it didn’t include me.

I walked over to a chair and sat down to wrack my brain about what Supernatural Kingsley could possibly be. Hastein shot at me a need to know everything was ok. I sent back confusion and that it was fine, but that didn’t relieve him to the degree I thought. It only settled part of him.

I checked our bond closer. My oldest cousin was far more agitated than I’d ever felt him. What was up with him? Oden admitted, “I don’t know.” I left him to his feelings because I knew he’d talk to me about it if he needed to.

I turned my thoughts to what in the heck Kingsley was. As a Duke of the Hackura, I knew a lot of Supernatural’s most others didn’t. I hadn’t met them all, but I knew of them. Kingsley had to be a combination of something for me not to know what she was.

It just didn’t feel like something I was familiar with. I sat down and watched both women get excited about something. I noticed Hastein practically had a hold on my bond going over every emotion. What in the world?

My mate and Kingsley talked for a while before Melanie came back over to me. Another woman came out from a different room. I raised an eyebrow watching as Kingsley gave her key and that woman, who was a Demon, practically fled.

Kingsley walked over to us smirking at me. Melanie said, “If you could pop us…. to Nashville that would be great.” No. Oden agreed, “Not a single chance.” I raised an eyebrow asking, “Why?” Kingsley said, “I can see you don’t want to, and honestly that’s major points for you. I was not a fan of how they treated Mel.”

I raised an eyebrow, “I think you were probably not fully in how they treated her.” Kingsley turned to Melanie who squeaked. Kingsley commented, “You’d appear to be correct. The reason we are going there is because Melanie doesn’t have a place in your area where I could stay under the radar.”

I snorted, “I do and I’ll take you in Nashville over my actual dead body. I certainly won’t leave you there.” Kingsley smirked. Oden agreed, “You are right. We can’t leave this woman in Nashville for many reasons. Mate suffered there and we don’t trust them with K. We have to protect her.” I knew that. I just didn’t know why. Surely it was because she was friends with my mate and protected her. Right? Oden admitted, “I don’t know.”

Melanie shrieked, “Really? You’d let her stay at one of your safe houses? That I totally don’t know about… no, this all brand new information… just coming out….because you said it…right now… All brand new information…to the three of us…or is it six…with counterparts? I’m going with three because they are part of us.”

Oden snickered in my head. Kingsley shook her head slightly, but amusement danced in her eyes. I laughed, “Of course you know about my safe houses.” Melanie squeaked, “WHHHHaaaaattttt? NO… that would be crazy….for me to know about…and probably invasive….so that’s…”

I cut her off, “Please stop lying. It’s fine that you know about them. I don’t see it as crazy or invasive. Everything I have is yours and you always knew we were mates. So, that’s how I see it. As you apparently know, EJ and I own several places. No one will bother Kingsley, and she can come to see our mating ceremony in peace. Somehow, I won’t see her when she comes.” Kingsley must not know how often patrols run and report back to the Alphas.

Kingsley smirked and I popped all of us to the safe house in my territory. Oden teased, “The nicest one.” I reasoned, “They are all nice, but this is the most expensive one. I just feel the need to make sure Kingsley is ok.” Oden offered, “I already agree.”

One thing was certain. Life was definitely more exciting with Melanie in it. I’d have to let EJ know the least surprising twist of today was the fact that Melanie knew about our safe houses. Then I’d have to figure out what was going on with Hastein. My cousin had always been there for me, and I was going to do the same thing for him.

Priorities

Melanie was about to crash through a window to escape the fire when a portal opened. It was directly in front of me too. I couldn’t help but sigh in relief as I gunned my motorcycle through. Even though I Immediately had to slam on the brakes and turn to the side because there were people standing there.

We came to a stop directly in front of Prince Marcus and Former King Titus Cambridge. I cut the engine. Marcus shouted, “WHAT THE FUCK JUST HAPPENED?!” I sighed, “Tenley… of all the places in the entire realm to choose from… you opened a portal to the living room of the castle?”

I started laughing about that and Tenley did too. Blaise even joined us. Titus and Marcus looked confused. Marcus asked, “And what is a Resistance member doing with two girls who were kidnapped?” I frowned, “Isn’t that obvious? I saved them. I feel like that’s obvious. I’m not a bad guy, and I definitely wouldn’t bring them to you if I was. That would be the worst plan of all time.”

Blaise doubled over in laughter, but that was confusing because my statement was true… not funny. Freya told me, “I love you so much.” Ok? I was right though. Titus spoke to Blaise, “I hear you are mated to my grandson. He is quite distraught at this moment.”

I clapped my hands together and shouted, “I KNEW IT! I knew that’s who you had to be to Corbin I so called that.” Everyone glanced at me. I asked, “What? I did… I was pretty sure… it made sense to me…given all the making out and clandestine type meetings….that I totally don’t know about.”

Blaise sighed, “I thought we’d hidden our relationship really well, but someone found out in my Coven. Obviously the chickin black knew too. By the way, you’re a terrible liar.” I snorted, “Ok…so that’s…true…but to be fair I know a lot of things.”

Blaise teased, “Clearly.” I admitted, “I’ve actually followed Corbin a few times because of the threats out on him. So, that’s how I knew he always meets you in secret. I should’ve gotten an inkling sooner you were his mate because… for the last six months… you’re the ONLY woman I saw him with. I mean really… I’m disappointed in me. I thought you were girlfriend at first… I figured it out, but still.”

Titus asked, “How exactly did you get past Corbin’s Guard if you were watching him? They should’ve known.” I said, “Umm… well... they weren’t always there. I’ve killed a few Coven members after Corbin. He’s kind of a popular target… what am I saying? You know that.”

“Of course you know that. I’m also stealthy… and I knew where his Guard was… I can sense you guys… ohh that’s not a fun look I’m getting… it was helpful… some of you are very still and patient… which was annoying… but understandable. So… I’m just going to go to the balcony and...”

Marcus cut me off, “You cannot possibly think you’re leaving this realm without, at minimum, a more in depth conversation.” I mean Xander would pop me out if I asked. Ohhh…. I liked that idea. Freya snickered in my head.

I said, “Umm well I wasn’t leaving… I said balcony… I’m not jumping from the balcony …that’s crazy… Well, I would do it but… like only in emergencies… that’s a LONG drop… and you’d be chasing me.”

“Plus, falling from that high does sting a bit… and I don’t really have time for that… because it would be bad… for people… me… and umm other people. If you could just call a few people and have them come here first, before that conversation you want to have, and like… everyone that would also join said conversation… that would be great.”

Tenley snorted, “She’s going to say she needs to talk to Cayden.” I agreed, “I am. Micah and… well… this one probably won’t make sense… but umm…” Titus cut in, “Alexander. You want him here too.” Ok, maybe it did make sense… technically speaking, they probably all knew he called the sniper and left message.
