“I bet your hair looks amazing in the sunlight,” Tony continued, shuffling some papers around on his desk. “You must be quite the wild one. What other hair colors have you had?”
There was no missing the way he looked me over. I’d seen him check out some of the other girls. Ogling their cleavage when he thought no one was looking. Joking around in a flirtatious manner. How many students had he managed to lure?
“Um, I had it blue before this. Last year. It’s not really that wild. I just like to feel colorful.” Not knowing what else to say, I continued to inch toward the stairs.
“I like it. It looks good on you.” Tony winked before turning his attention to the next students to enter the room.
Feeling the ick, I went to the back row and grabbed a seat as far from Tony as possible. Everyone liked him because he was so friendly. I was discovering there was a lot more to it than that.
We went through the motions of class like always. Tony led us through a discussion about the material with several students contributing. I sat back and listened, content to observe. All I wanted was for class to end so I could get out of here and see Casper.
When class finally wrapped up, I shoved my laptop into my bag, intent on rushing out the door. I didn’t expect Tony to stop me.
“Hey, Luna. Can you hang back for a second?”
My stomach dropped. Instinct had me feeling defensive. I tried to keep my distance, not drawing too close to his desk while everyone else filed from the room. He waited until we were alone.
“What’s up?” I asked. “I have another class starting right away.”
I didn’t actually have another class immediately. He didn’t need to know that.
Tony rounded the desk, a teasing smile on his face. “Trying to run off on me already? You’re not trying to get away from me, are you?”
He drew closer, making my spine stiffen. I didn’t expect him to grab a lock of my hair, rubbing it between his fingers.
“So soft,” he said, his gaze dropping to my cleavage. “I bet you’re soft all over.”
“Is there something you wanted to discuss?” I took a step toward the door. “I really do have to get going.”
What I should’ve done was told him to go fuck himself before reporting him for his behavior. All I wanted was to get away from him.
“I thought maybe we could go out sometime. Have dinner or something. Whatever you like.” Tony shrugged, trying to make light of his request. “We could end with dessert. Maybe I could eat that sweet pussy. I know you’ve thought about it. You’re always so sweet and friendly. Spread your legs for me and you’ll ace this class. You won’t even have to take the final.”
Struggling to believe what I’d heard had actually been said, I gaped at him in shock. I didn’t know what to say. The words wouldn’t come.
“Think about it,” Tony said when I didn’t immediately reply. “We’ll have fun.”
The sound of a shoe scuffing the floor in the doorway made us both turn to find Casper standing there. The expression he wore told me that he’d heard everything.
Seeing him was what I needed to spring into action. I rushed from the room, pushing past Casper as I hurried down the hall. He hesitated, staring into the room at Tony before turning to follow me.
Casper caught hold of my arm, pulling me to a stop. I didn’t need any translation to understand what he signed.
“I really don’t want to talk about it,” I said. “Obviously, I’m not interested in him. He’s always been flirtatious, although he’s never said anything like that to me before.”
With a pissed off huff, Casper angrily typed on his phone. You can’t let him get away with that. He’s a teacher. He’s using that to sexually harass you. The guy is a fucking creep. Someone has to do something about him.
“No.” My protest came out as a near shout. Lowering my voice, I added, “Please don’t get involved. I’ll tell him I’m not interested. That will be the end of it. Leave it alone.”
I can’t do that. I won’t allow him to treat you that way.
Now I began to get angry. “It’s not your fight, Casper. I don’t need you sticking your nose into my business all the time. I can handle it myself.”
I didn’t mean to be so snappy. The thought of him doing something to Tony made me sick. Casper couldn’t fight every battle for me. He couldn’t kill every person who said or did something to wrong me. Could he? I didn’t want any part of that.
Casper’s face fell. He took a step back, clearly wounded by my angry retort. This time he very clearly signed, “You are mine.”
Part of me lit up at his claim. Wanting to be his. After dealing with Jace’s call earlier and now this bullshit with Tony, I was done with men taking what they wanted.
