Owen: Least the dog isn’t shitting pink everywhere.
Reed: My dogs butthole looks like it belongs to a smurf.
I grimace at the thought of Reed inspecting the dog’s butt.
Tate: I’m astounded you went there.
Reed: Trust me, so am I.
Reed: We had no clue what it was until Gia witnessed it for herself.
I shake my head with laughter.
Me: Did it have the cute glitter sprinkles on top too?
Travis snorts.
Reed: When I think my life can’t get any more shocking something happens that reminds me it can.
Owen: Bet the trauma got you a blow job though?
Reed: Two actually. See, I’m in a full-fledged relationship and still I’m winning at Thirsty Thirty.
I roll my eyes. If they knew how much Summer liked sucking on my cock, he’d think otherwise. Pretty sure I’m winning.
The doorbell sounds, and I wince. The thought of Summer in the bath upstairs is calling to me. “Should I grab it for you?” Trav asks.
“No, man. You get on home; it’s been a long day.” He ducks his head and follows me to the front door.
“I really appreciate everything you’re doing for me, Mase.”
“I appreciate you taking care of Summer for me. You manned up when nobody else would, and I’ll never forget that.”
He shifts from foot to foot, and I get the distinct feeling he wants to tell me something, but the doorbell rings again, so I pull it open with a heavy huff.
My eyes widen as they latch onto a very shifty-looking Levi, and his gaze snaps to Travis’s, then back to mine. “Can Ispeak with you?” He gestures toward Trav, and I narrow my eyes. Not on my watch, fuckwit.
Trav rolls his lip into his mouth before taking the door from me and gestures for Levi to step inside. “Sure.”
I barely move back enough for him to close the door behind him, then cross my arms over my thick chest as I glare at the punk. His ears turn red under my scrutiny, and he swallows heavily.
“I, err. I just want you to know I made sure nobody will talk about the diner incident.” He glances at me, then back at Trav. The need to protect him has me clenching my fists. “And my father has spoken to the school. He’s going to make sure you can finish, if that’s what you want.” His hands tremble, and as if sensing me studying him, he stuffs them in his pockets. His gaze locks with Trav’s, and there’s a strange dull moment where I feel like I’m missing something. “I just need you to know something.”
I watch with bated breath and a sharpened jaw as Trav struggles to hold his gaze. “Yeah?” he rasps.
Levi shuffles from one foot to the other. “I was never interested in Summer.” His eyes flit to mine, then back to Trav who blinks rapidly and slowly, if that at all makes sense.
Oh, shit.
“I was jealous.” He glances down at the floor, then back up at Trav. “Of Summer.” His cheeks flush deeper, and his words are now barely a whisper. “Of the relationship you have. It’s not Summer I’m into.”
My heart skips a beat for them, and suddenly, I feel like an intruder in my own home.
“I’m going to leave you both to it.” I gift them a nod and head upstairs.
“Mase?” Travis shouts, and with a hand on the rail, I turn. “Thank you.”
“For what?”
