“Probably.” Vic leaned closer and pressed a kiss to his lips. “But I can still hope.”
Foster kissed Vic back, a little rougher.
Vic slipped from the bed and got dressed while Foster continued to stare at the ceiling and mentally prepare for war.
“So…” Foster said. “How long have you been fucking my wife?”
Vic froze, eyeing him. “You knew.”
Foster lifted a quizzical brow.
Vic searched Foster’s face. His brows furrowed as he gave an almost imperceptible shake to his head.“Didn’t you?”
“Howlonghave you been fucking my wife?” Foster asked again.
It wasn’t that he was angry. Foster simply wanted the truth. He wouldn’t get it from Ashley, and something told him Vic wasn’t capable of weaving a good enough lie.
“A few months,”Vic whispered.
“A few months?” Foster chuckled, but there was no humor in it. “You’ve been fucking my wife under my nose… for a few months.”
“She told me you two had an open relationship. She said you knew about us.”
Foster scowled.
“Honestly!”Vic barked, eyes wide. “Ididn’tknow.”
Foster sensed that might be the truth. He moved off the bed and sat on the edge, not sure what he did next. Argue or simply leave?
“She’s obviously been lying to us both,” Vic muttered as he sat beside Foster. “I’m sorry. I seriously thought you knew.” He sighed, closing his eyes. “I’msofucking dumb.” He scrubbed his face with both hands before looking at Foster. “She told me to act like I was a stranger tonight because it would be hotter.Howcould I be so stupid and not see it then?”
Foster actually felt a little bad for Vic. The guy seemed truly upset. More upset than Foster was, for sure.
“I’m sorry,” Vic whispered.
“It’s fine,” Foster said. “She and I aresodone.”
“If you need somewhere to sleep tonight, I have a place you can go.”
Foster chuckled. “You’ve gotten me in enough trouble tonight.”
Vic silently rose and finished getting dressed. When he was done, he paused and looked at Foster. “I’m heading out then.”
Foster rose from the bed. “I’ll walk you to the door.”
He snagged his boxers from the floor and pulled them on before he trailed Vic out toward the front door. They both looked around cautiously on the way, but there was no sign of Ashley.
Vic gave him one last ravening kiss before he departed. “Sure you don’t want to come with me? I promise… no argument.”
“It’s time to see this through and end it.”
Vic nodded and walked out. Once Vic’s tail lights disappeared around the corner, he closed the door.
“Did you ever love me?”
Foster searched around and found Ashley in the upstairs loft that opened to the living room. She leaned against the guardrail and glared down at him.
“Did you?” she asked.
