“I heard one of the strippers filmed them having sex and sent the video to his fiancée.”
They all gasp but my heart squeezes when I think the guys really did have strippers. Of course, they would. I expected that and Ethan was with them.
Denver is a dirty dog, that’s even his nickname on the field. So, him having sex with strippers when he’s supposed to get married in a matter of days doesn’t surprise me. What I do wonder is if Ethan was with any of the strippers.
Again, I have no right to think this, but I hope he wasn’t. I can’t see what time he would have had to get frisky with the strippers, but I don’t know.
Denver’s poor fiancée. She sounded decent so I thought maybe he’d changed. Clearly, I was wrong.
“What an asshole,” Mary says. “He must have hoped what happened in Vegas would stay there, but it followed him like the dog he is.”
“Serves him right,” Tennessee states taking a sip of her drink. “I don’t think it’s postponed. It’s more like cancelled. How can anyone work through that? How low and disgusting.”
“Thank goodness she found out what he was like now before she got hitched and they had kids.”
“Exactly,” Quinn agrees and suddenly they’re talking about babies again and I I’m not sure how I don’t fall asleep.
It’s just like my friends to be in a club and talking about umbilical cords and pelvic floor exercises.
I find myself staring at the swirling lights bouncing off the table until Quinn nudges me and I straighten up.
While Clarrisa tells us for the millionth time how hard her labor was with baby number one, Quinn leans in close to my ear.
“Look,” she whispers, subtly pointing to the second floor
I follow her gaze and direction and my eyes land on Ethan standing right above us on the balcony watching me.
Because of where we’re seated, only we can see him and I think he positioned himself like that by design. He’s standing there with his hands resting on the silver railing looking hotter than sin in full black again and a biker jacket.
“Go to him Bree,” Quinn says with a mischievous smile.
“I don’t know if I should.” My pulse speeds up and I can’t catch my breath.
Quinn nods. “You should. Trust me you should. I think he wants you to.”
I think so too, but what will going to him mean?
“Go.”
“Okay, I’m going.”
Drawing in a deep breath I give her a little nod for reassurance, and I get up. The others are so engrossed in their conversation they don’t even see me leave.
As I take one step in front of the other my legs shake and I try to tamp down my nerves.
I make it up to the second floor and find him.
When our eyes lock and his rivets to mine I know I just stepped into his lair and right into another trap he’s set for me.
Because he knew if I saw him, I would come.
Chapter21
Bree
Awave of desire works its way through me when Ethan smiles at me.
I stop a few paces away and his gaze slides over my body, taking in everything I’m wearing.
