When I look at Piper, I don't think of her as my best friend anymore.I see her as the woman I want.
So, what am I going to do about it?
* * *
I decide to leave after lunch and get home early, only to land myself in another trap when I look through the sitting room window and see my hot little best friend walking around the poolside in a bikini.
I forgot it was her day off.
Even if I wanted to, I can’t tear my eyes away from her perfect body, and like a perv, I stare at her, taking in everything I shouldn’t.Her fully rounded breasts that somehow look bigger today. That ass as she flips herself onto the deck chair and reaches for the lotion on the ground next to her.
I know I’m in even more trouble when she loosens the strings holding up her bikini top, and I’m stillwatching.I’m still watching when she takes off the top completely and massages the lotion all over her breasts, completely oblivious to my sinful, watchfuleyes.
Completely oblivious to the sinful plan brewing in my mind.
My gaze lingers on her rose-tipped nipples as the sun’s beams kiss them the way I want to and caress her body the way I long to.
I must be crazy if I want to complicate things more than they are.
It’s the type of crazy I won’t turn my back on, though.
I want her, but she knows me too well.
What I’d do with any other woman wouldn’t work with her.
The only way to get this girl is to work slowly and effectively.
To make her want me too.

“So, how’s it going?” Elodie asks, taking a sip of her coffee.
She dragged me into her office for a much-needed catch-up meeting. She’s been away for the last two weeks.Hollis took her to Paris for her birthday.
Chad and I have been on this course for the last two months, and honestly, everything is making my head spin.
“A lot,” I answer, leaning back against the soft leather of the sofa.
She sets her cup down on the little table and stares back at me with clear fascination.“Do tell. I saw more articles about you guys, but I want everything from the horse’s mouth, so don’t leave anything out.”
I laugh and set my cup down too.“Well, we’re still dating, and this week is a big week.”
“The engagement?” she squeals.
“Yeah, the engagement.” That’s this Friday, and next weekend is Chad’s parents’ anniversary getaway at Oheka Castle. That engagement is going to be the talk for weeks. “I can’t believe it’s happening. We actually look and feel like a real couple.”
“Of course, you do. Has anything else happened? Anything more beyond closed doors?”
I have to laugh. I know what she’s really asking me. “No, nothing beyond closed doors.”
“Just dating?” She studies my face.
“Just dating.”
“Really?”
