I turned to face him and grinned. He arched his sexy lips showing off the dimple in his left cheek.
“Is that really a question I’m supposed to answer?” I cajoled.
“Just want to make sure .”
Was this guy for real?“I love it.”
He kissed the tip of my nose and I giggled. AJ then got out to open the door for me.
I took hold of his outstretched hand but allowed my eyes to drift over the perfection of the man before me.
Nothing about this day had felt real, or rather nothing had felt real since we first spoke. Holding onto my hand he pulled me out and held me close as I observed our surroundings.
Even in the darkness of the night, the beauty of the house and the grounds were simply striking.
I looked over the house becoming more mesmerized by the second as I took in its design of traditional French windows, large Oakwood doors, and angles that ran into cornices up to the thatched roof. The roof was perhaps the only thing that resembled the villa image I had in mind. The cherry on top was the lake that flowed next to it. It set the scene in motion with the moonlight beaming down on it, like diamonds splashed over the surface.
God, this was a dream.
AJ tugged on my hand and led me up the arched veranda that had hanging plants and ivy adorning the walls.
There he stood behind me, slipped his arms around my waist, then began tracing a line of kisses down my neck. I felt them everywhere. He turned me around to face him and moved in to kiss my lips, but I backed away playfully and giggled.
“Not so fast,” I cooed, an idea to play with him formed in my head. “This isn’t a villa.”
“No,” his lips curled up, “and you’re teasing me. Come here.” He moved closer, and reached for me, but again I backed away, teasing him indeed.
I laughed when he caught up to me and backed me against the wall, the cool concrete seeping into my palms. It was a stark contrast to the heat that ravaged my body for this man.
He placed his hands on either side of me, blocking my escape, then leaned close to my ear in a menacing manner. “I suggest you stop that if you don’t want to end up naked outside.”
I turned my head to face him, catching sight of the darkness and element of danger in his silver eyes.
“I can’t imagine a sweet guy like you doing such a thing.” I feigned innocence and naivety. I knew he wasn’t sweet, and I didn’t want him to be.
He brushed his lips over mine. “Just so we’re clear, I’m not sweet, and while I’m being up front, I’ll confess that I’ve been imagining you naked all day.” The declaration brought back the desire.
“Have you?” I asked in a low voice that made him smile.
“Does that scare you, sweet Wren?”
“No.” I said a little too quickly. “Do you think I’m sweet?”
“You are sweet, and now that I know your lips taste as sweet as I imagined, I need to taste the rest of you.” That dark look hardened his silver gaze, making his eyes turn to steel.
“Then taste me.” My voice echoed the desperation that gripped me.
That desperation weakened any form of logic that may have existed in my mind. Anything that might have told me we were going too fast. While I may have known him for over two years, I knew that I didn’treallyknow him.
But I was sick of playing it safe. That only landed me in the terrible situation I’d found myself in with Billy, and my awful relationships of the past.
So now I was going on emotion and impulse. I was in Paris, pushed up against the wall of a beautiful house with a gorgeous god-like man before me telling me that he’d been imagining me naked all day. There was no way I was going to allow my brain to tell me anything different to what my body felt.
We moved to each other at the same time, his lips crashing against mine with a burst of energy fueled by primal need.
He picked me up, his lips still on mine, and I wrapped my legs around his waist. AJ practically knocked the door down as we went in. I was vaguely aware that we went up some stairs, down a corridor, and then we were in a dark room where he set me down. My feet sank into plush carpet that I would have taken the time to savor if lust wasn’t searing every inch of my brain.
AJ only broke away from me to switch on the light. With the room illuminated my breath once again left me, swept away by the stunning décor all around us.
