Well, nevermind. He should've known better than to think he had control of this situation. Even with Ava under him, even when he tried to control the pace, Ava wasn't going to let him make that decision.
His body instinctively picked up, faster just as Ava told him. And she responded, her hips keeping pace, her breath hot and heavy against his skin, her nails digging into his glutes. He could feel her hands tighten against him every time he moved as if she was worshiping the muscles he had spent so much time working on at the gym. His coach appreciated the power he created, his trainers... oh who fucking cares. Ava was the only person who mattered right now, and her appreciation was all he needed.
"I'm so close," she muttered. "So..."
He had tried to hold on as long as he could, tried to make sure she was satisfied, and he could tell she was. He could feel her body tighten around him, her legs wrapping around his waist, her fingers digging into his body. He couldn't hold back anymore, no matter how hard he tried, and that final moan escaping her lips sent him over the edge.
Shane had to use all the strength he had left to prop himself on his elbows above her, her chest tickling his muscles as Ava's breathing started to return to normal. Then he heard that little bit of laughter escape her, reverberating through his body.
"That was..."
Her voice was warm and happy as it trailed off, and he felt the same way. That was... Amazing. Delicious. Sexy as all hell. Shane took a deep breath, inhaling the smell of flowers in Ava's hair, wishing he could just hold on to this moment.
He gently pulled himself away from her, giving her a small smile, and stumbled into the bathroom to clean himself up and wash his hands. Looking in the mirror, he saw a completely ravished man staring back at him. He was spent, and it felt so good.
He walked back into the room and found Ava laid out on the bed wearing his t-shirt.
"Stealing my clothes?"
He grabbed his boxer briefs off the floor and slid them on. When he stood back up, Ava was staring at him looking sexy as hell in his shirt.
"I thought maybe it would force you to stay longer."
He chuckled and shook his head. "Negotiating tactic. I should've expected that from you."
Defeated, he dropped down onto Ava's bed and pulled her closer to him. Her body was warm and soft and looked amazing in his t-shirt. There was no way he was going to start negotiating for his clothes back just yet.
Ava reached up and put the warm palm of her hand on his chest. "You're not my enemy."
Shane kissed her forehead and pulled her closer. "Then who am I?"
He could feel her shrug and pull herself closer. "You're kind of like me," she said. "You're a badass when you need to be, but you're soft when you want to be."
"Huh," he said. "I don't think anyone's ever described me like that."
"Am I wrong?"
He turned to see her staring at him, a defiant look on her face. He could tell that she knew she was right. He leaned over and kissed the top of her head.
"You're not wrong," he whispered into her dark hair. "Just don't tell anyone I'm soft though, OK?"
She gave him a little laugh and snuggled closer. "I won't if you won't."
He pushed himself down into Ava's pillows and pulled her closer to his chest. He should probably leave. No, he should definitely leave. He was a badass when he needed to be, and he needed to be a badass and talk himself into going back to his room. But right now, he kind of liked being soft, surrounded by these fluffy pillows and expensive sheets and Ava. He really liked being soft with Ava being soft next to him.
Chapter Seven
The sun was just starting to filter through her curtains when she heard a phone bleep with an alert that there was a new message. At least that's what she assumed happened because it didn't sound like her phone.
Ava slowly opened her eyes to find Shane in bed with her. He was still asleep, still oblivious to his phone alert. She sat up, holding the sheet up to her bare chest, only to remember that it wasn't bare. She was still wearing Shane's black t-shirt. She closed her eyes, letting the smell of his cologne from the shirt linger for just a moment. She would have to find a way to keep this.
Ava looked above his sleeping body at the clock in the nightstand. Almost six in the morning. Her alarm would be going off on her phone in a few minutes.
She slowly climbed out of bed so she wouldn't disturb Shane and padded her way into the bathroom. The lights were harsh this morning, and it didn't help that she had been up later than usual. She had a second round with Shane in her bed that was way too amazing and lasted way too long. She would have to put on some extra make-up if she wanted to look fresh today. Her brush tamed her hair enough that she could look presentable, but that was going to need some extra work later as well. It still looked like she had been ravished in her hotel room bed.
"Dammit," she heard a man say in her room.
Shane sounded delicious in the morning.
