"That's what my sweater says."

Logan rolled his eyes and climbed in the back seat of the car while Alex took up his spot in the front passenger seat again.

"Birdie, you can't announce that to everyone just because that's what your sweater says," Matt said from his spot next to Logan in the back seat.

Logan buckled his belt and looked over at the goalie. "So what kind of nerdy Christmas sweater did you get this year, Matty?"

"Doctor Who," he replied. "It's blue with a huge Tardis in the middle."

Logan wasn't into all the geek culture that Matt liked, but he knew what a Tardis was and would have no problem admitting that he was kind of excited to see how this year's geeky goalie sweater turned out.

Alex turned around and smiled at the pair in the back seat. "So don't leave us hanging, Moore. What does your sweater say?"

For the first time since this morning, Logan could actually feel a bit of happiness bubbling up. He found this stupid sweater in August when he was bored one night and fell into an Amazon shopping hole. Somehow, he landed on this thing and knew he had to buy it right then and there, hoarding it away until this year's party.

"It says, 'Santa's favorite ho.'"

The guys in the car roared with laughter and even their driver couldn't hold back his amusement. And so, the crew headed to Jordan's party with Logan thinking this was exactly what he needed to lift his spirits after all.

The guys piled out of the car in front of Jordan's house a few minutes later and thanked their driver, telling them they would call him later to get picked up. Jordan's house looked pretty on the outside, or at least whatever a guy like Logan would consider pretty. The house and trees were decorated with small white lights. There was a Christmas wreath on the door and two evergreen trees on the porch. This was definitely Charlotte's doing, but that wasn't a bad thing.

The music and noise from the party came spilling out as soon as they walked in the door. Charlotte was there to greet them in a red dress with a fluffy skirt and white belt that made her look like some 1950's version of Mrs. Claus. It was classic and classy and would've given Logan dirty thoughts if she wasn't his captain's girlfriend.

Also, she wasn't Max.

Dammit, he thought. He was hoping the party would distract him from thinking about that woman. Apparently not.

He leaned over and gave Charlotte an innocent a peck on her cheek. "You look great," he told her.

"Thanks," she said with a smile.

"Hey, there you guys are!"

Jordan walked into the foyer in a navy blue men's suit with Christmas trees and deers humping printed all over it.

"Wow, that looks classy," Matt said sarcastically before turning to Charlotte. "You sure you want this guy to be your boyfriend?"

"Well, he's not really my boyfriend."

Wait, what?Logan's heart gave a lurch. Jordan and Charlotte seemed happy standing there in front of him, so what gives? And if they couldn't make it work, what hope was there for the rest of them?

"The boys look a little scared that we broke up, Charlie."

"They do, don't they?"

Logan turned and realized that Alex and Matt had the same stunned looks on their faces. He could hear Jordan sigh dramatically in frustration.

"Holy crap, you guys are dense," the captain muttered. "Can you please show them your ring?"

The boys turned to see Charlotte standing there, hand out in front of her, with a huge diamond ring on her finger.

"We're getting married!"

"You gave me a heart attack!" Matt said as he pulled Charlotte into a hug. "I was about to punch my own captain to knock some sense into him."

"You would never punch me," Jordan said.

"We would punch you for Charlotte," Alex replied.
