Chapter 20

Bryson

“I can’t believe you actually left me all alone last night.” Lillian pushes out her bottom lip, giving me the biggest pouty face I’ve ever seen. She’s getting bolder and more confident at expressing herself. I love it.

I bring my face closer to my phone and narrow my eyes at her through the camera. “I told you I wasn’t going to sleep with you, sweet girl.”

She sighs dramatically and flops onto her back on the bed, holding her phone up so I can still see her. Her fingers come to her neck, reminding me of her habit of toying with a necklace that’s no longer there. It’s a subconscious movement she makes when she’s slightly stressed. It’s bold of her to talk to me about sex, which is adorable and telling.

Her hair fans out around her, making her look like an angel. “Surely you could at least sleep with me even if you aren’t willing to take your pants off.”

“Uh, no.” It’s hard to maintain my serious expression. “There’s not a chance in hell I could share a bed with you overnight and not fuck you clear into tomorrow, naughty girl.”

She rolls onto her tummy, sets the phone on the bed, and hovers over it on her elbows. “I’m not the one stopping you from fucking me clear into tomorrow.”

I break form and chuckle. “Not happening, Lils.”

Another sigh. Another pouty lip. “Are you not attracted to me like that?” she whines.

This time, I laugh. “What happened to the sweet girl I met at Surrender? That Little girl would never talk to her Daddy like that. And so much cussing. Tsk tsk. The girl I met was worried about what would happen if she misbehaved.”

Lillian shrugs. “She’s gone. I think she snuck out in the night. She’s not coming back.”

I stare into her eyes. Her words are oddly reminiscent of what actually happened a few months ago. “Do you think that’s going to become a habit for her?”

Lillian sobers. “No. Sorry. I didn’t mean anything by that comment.”

“Okay. But if you have doubts, you need to let me know so I can be prepared to cuff you to my bed because there’s no way I’m letting you sneak out in the night without a fight.”

She gives me a slow smile. “I’ll never leave you, Bryson, but if you want to cuff me to your bed, that’s okay. I kind of liked it last time you did it.”

“Lils, you slid into a deep subspace and struggled to come back into your body,” I remind her.

“Yeah, but maybe that won’t happen if you let me come when you do it.”

This sexy banter is fun. Everything I do with Lillian is entertaining. I’m head over heels for this woman. I wake up missing her every morning.

I really do want her in my home, but I’m serious about how impossible it would be to sleep with her without claiming every inch of her body inside and out, including with my cock.

My feelings for her are solid. I know my mind and heart. I’ve never felt anything like this for a woman in my life. Even though I’ve only seen her a few times in person, our relationship was deeply ingrained in me long before that. I’d been putting off taking her out because I couldn’t fathom how the hell the two of us would possibly work.

The truth is, we just do. We work. Nothing else matters. She’s mine. She’s under my skin. The rest is not important. We’ll figure it out. The woman pushed me over the edge when she suggested joining Surrender and going without me.

I glance at my watch. “Listen, Baby. I’m going to the gym. After that, I need to stop by one of the job sites. Then I’ll be over. I’ll try to get there by lunch. Okay?”

“You have to go to a job site on a Sunday?”

“Yeah. It happens occasionally. Construction at this location is running behind because of all the rain we’ve had in the last month. My guys are working weekends to try and catch up.”

She smiles. Her eyes dance. “Want me to make chicken nuggets and have them ready when you get here?” she jokes.

“No, naughty girl. I’ll pick you up, and we’ll go out.”

“Okay. I’ll text you the code to get into the building. See you soon.” She blows me kisses before ending the connection.

I’m left staring at my phone like a loon, grinning. If I don’t change my focus to my workout, I’m going to end up with a hard-on at the gym.
