“I’m not sure I understand.”

“Borough Market is a hive. It’s not just Londoners who shop there, but tourists, and top chefs and— It can get pretty crazy. At that point, there’s the other half of Chill.”

“Chill out. I like that. Do you sell there now?”

Leo shook his head. “Too early. Getting a stall in Borough Market isn’t like applying to the local one. You have to write a proposal, have an interview, and then pass a tasting panel. I only started Chill in March. I’ve neither a track record nor a vast range of products.”

“Yet,” Finn said when Leo stopped talking. He was so convincing, so passionate about his work, Finn couldn’t imagine that he wouldn’t succeed.

“Yet,” Leo agreed, a little startled. Then he smiled. “Definitely ‘yet’.”

It was Finn’s first truly enjoyable evening in ages, and he’d spent it with another person! He also didn’t want it to end. He asked questions about ice cream making and enjoyed Leo’s gaze on him when he answered. When Annabel came to tell them that the pub was closing, he found he had talked more in three hours than he would usually speak in a week.
