“Sofas,” Leo said immediately. “You wanted a place where people could come and knit.”

“That was me. Alone. Before… all this. What wouldyoulike to do with the space?”

“Pretty much the same,” Leo said. “We’re Cosy & Chill for a reason. Comfort and relaxation. We can always have little tables outside during ice cream season.”

“You’re giving this a lot of thought.” Finn crossed the room and rested his elbows on the counter. “I like it.”

Finn’s smile set Leo’s heart racing. He didn’t dare reach across to touch Finn, too scared he’d move too fast and ruin everything. He kept his eyes on Finn’s wayward curls, his mind on taking slow breaths. And jumped when Finn leaned over and kissed him on the cheek.

“Just giving it back,” Finn murmured, breath ghosting over Leo’s ear and raising shivers. “In case it was an accident.”

“What if it wasn’t?”

“Then I should return it with interest.”

Leo’s heart almost hammered its way out of his chest. They stood in a brightly lit shop on Richmond High Street, but he couldn’t take his gaze from Finn’s face, the thickly lashed grey eyes, darker now than he’d seen them before, the spray of freckles across his nose, and the full lips. He wanted to feel those lips. And not just on his cheek.

When Finn cupped his jaw, Leo melted into the touch. He took a deep breath, tasted furniture polish and the remnants of Finn’s aftershave on the air.

Then Finn’s lips touched his, and everything that wasn’t Finn Hoogan ceased to be important.
