“What do you do for entertainment? I didn’t see a TV.”
“I listen to music. Or audiobooks. How about you?”
“No TV for me either,” Leo said. “I have Netflix on my laptop if I get desperate. Otherwise, I prefer to read recipe books or experiment with new flavours.”
“I knew there was a reason I found you so easy to talk to when we met. Not to mention, we wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for you.” Finn raised his glass and waited for Leo to do the same. “Thanks for that!”
“I don’t make a habit of upending things the way I did this week. Most of the time, I’m not that quick to make decisions either. That said, I can get carried away when something catches my imagination. If that ever bothers you—”
“I’ll tell you. Don’t worry. It’s as Mr Tienfield said. All we’re doing right now is renting a house and sharing it. Sorting out the business will take longer. I’ll probably need to go through the paperwork several times before it makes sense to me. You don’t want to know how long it took me to set up my store. By the time I’d read all the small print and followed all the instructions, I had a mountain of products to sell.”
“We’ll take the time to get it right, and you don’t have to do everything by yourself.” Leo stood. “Time for champagne. Cake or ice cream?”
Finn let his head fall against the back of the sofa and smiled so hard his jaw hurt. “Cake and champagne. Followed by ice cream and black coffee. After that, I won’t wake until lunchtime tomorrow, airbed or not.”
