“Maybe,” Emma said as he nestled between her legs.
Her lips parted as Hunter eased himself into her. Her mind went wild as her body opened to him. Hunter was everywhere, inside, outside, surrounding her.
There wasn’t a place Emma touched that wasn’t Hunter. Never in her life had she felt such a connection and security from one person. It was as if Hunter’s soul mingled with hers, and together they spoke a new language only they understood.
Moving slowly, Emma’s body molded around Hunter’s manhood. She kept her eyes locked on him as she let the world fade away. All that mattered was the way Hunter looked while hovering over her.
“Am I hurtin’ ye?” Hunter asked as he eased himself deeper into her.
The air whizzed through Emma’s parted lips as she shook her head. Carefully, she reached out to him, cupped his face with one hand, and drew his lips to hers. Their kiss was beyond passion. It was sweet and an unspoken promise to remain faithful.
As Emma gave her heart, body, and soul to Hunter, the less she noticed the scars on his face. It was as if her love could mend and bind anything wrong away.
“I love ye,” Hunter whispered as his body rocked into her.
The muscles in his arms strained due to holding him in place for so long. Watching his struggle made Emma want to help ease the weariness in his body.
“I love ye as well,” Emma answered as she shifted her legs to one side, twisting her whole body until she rested on her right side.
Hunter’s eyes widened as she managed to keep him anchored to her as she moved.
“Sweet Mary,” Hunter said as Emma nestled into him, driving him ever deeper.
His fingers clung to her hips as he picked up the pace, sliding in and out of her. Emma closed her eyes as she thought of Hunter slamming against her like a mallet to a nail. Their bodies would forever be joined now, and she knew that nothing would ever keep them apart.
“Hunter,” Emma moaned as she arched her back.
The pressure building was far too much for her to handle. She felt as if her body were about to come apart and her spirit would reach heaven. Hunter rammed his manhood into her once more, but that was enough for Emma.
Every color in the room appeared more vivid. It was as if someone had flipped on the sun, and all the dull colors suddenly came to life. The room lit up into an explosion of rainbows, and then they were gone as quickly as they had appeared.
Hunter gasped for air and slowly lowered himself next to Emma. He threw his arm over her body and pulled her across the bear skin rug until her body molded into his.
“I didnae hurt ye, did I?” Hunter asked.
“Nay,” Emma answered as beads of sweat dripped from her forehead. She glanced at the wooden basin that had been set up for her bath.
“What are ye thinkin’ about?” Hunter asked, his voice so low next to her ear that the air fanning her lobe tickled her.
“Bathin’,” Emma answered as she felt Hunter lift his head before setting it back down. “Care to join me? I’m sure ye’ll need one as well.”
“I dinnae want ye to move, nae yet,” Hunter said, snuggling closer to her and resting his chin on her shoulder.
“But the water is probably already chilly,” Emma answered.
“Then I’ll fetch more hot water,” Hunter said, refusing to move. “For now, though, I want ye to stay put. Just in case, ye see?”
Curious, Emma turned her head. It wasn’t that she opposed snuggling with Hunter. In fact, any attention he offered her, she’d take. But she was ready to move and get cleaned up.
“In case?” Emma asked.
“Ye’re wit’ child now,” Hunter answered. “God, I hope ye are.”
“I never took ye for one to think about such things,” Emma said as she gave Hunter’s arm a squeeze.
“In truth, the idea didnae come to me until I was behind ye, and I thought to meself how I want ye to be the maither of me bairns,” Hunter said.
“Well, do I nae have a say in the matter?” Emma asked, her tone lighthearted and playful.
