We finally reached the display of clitoral vibrators.
“So many options,” Liam whispered in my ear. I could feel silk brushing against the back of my hand.
“Less options when you eliminate all the brightly coloured ones that I don’t vibe with. Pun only a little bit intended.”
“Of course you only want your sex toys to come in black,” he teased, picking up the sole black one available and studying the packaging. “Ten settings, silent, waterproof, rechargeable. I assume that ticks all your boxes?”
“Yeah, that should just about do it. And they don’t have to be black. Any neutral colour will do,” I clarified.
He walked away from me and headed towards the checkout desk, but not before picking up three boxes of condoms and two bottles of lube.
“Are three boxes really necessary?”
“I find in these situations, it’s best to be over-prepared, and I do not want a repeat of this morning where I have to put off letting you sink down on my cock because we ran out.”
“That’s still sixty condoms. How much sex are we having in the next week?” More sex than I had in the last couple of years, that’s for sure.
“As much as we want. You want anything else?”
“I want you to hand me that vibrator and I’ll go pay for it.” I reached out for it, and he held it up over his head. I stretched for it, and he flicked his wrist to keep it just out of my grasp. I could get it, he wasn’t that much taller than me and we had a similar reach, but I knew it would be a pointless task. He was paying for this no matter how much I protested.
“No. You want anything else?” he asked.
“No, just the vibrator. And the condoms. Good call on thelube,” I replied.
“Great, you might as well wait for me outside.”
“So the woman behind the counter can flirt with you without my presence?” I was joking. I’d noticed her notice Liam the moment that we walked in. He was hard to miss, especially when he walked around looking like a living wet dream in his backwards cap. She had not stopped staring at him as he moved around the store. Even when she had been serving other people, she’d had one eye on Liam.
“She’d probably do it even if you were there.” He shrugged.
“So you noticed her too?”
“The same way you can sense when a guy isn’t going to leave you alone is the same way I always know when someone is going to toe the line of appropriate behaviour when I inevitably have to interact with them. So yeah, I noticed her.”
“I’m so glad I don’t have to deal with passionate sports fans.”
“You do still have to deal with men, though.”
“A good point. Alright, I’ll go wait outside.” I went to move, but his hand wrapped loosely around my wrist and pulled me into him.
“Wait, is preventing the flirting why you wanted to go pay? Are you trying to be all Momma Bear with me, or is it a jealousy thing?” He cocked his scarred eyebrow.
It was both.
“It’s neither. I’m chill. You can look after yourself, and if I worried about every person who was ever going to flirt with you, I would be permanently jealous and who has that kind of time?”
“I probably have that kind of time.”
“Then you should really get a job, Muller,” I teased andheaded out of the store.
Fifteen minutes after I left him, Liam finally joined me outside. I sensed him standing next to me and heard an intake of breath when he looked down at my phone screen and saw what I was reading. Instead of talking, he took one of my hands and stuffed it in his coat pocket, pulling me closer to him in the process.
Five minutes later, I reached the end of the chapter and locked my phone.
“Was she just about to get railed by three werewolves?” Liam asked.
“Yeah, she was.” I sounded almost wistful. Liam picked up on it.
