Bang.
What the hell? Another gunshot.
Gemma's lifeless body slams down on the concrete next to me and I have to bite the inside of my cheek to keep from screaming.
“Fucking humans,” he mutters. “Clean this up Salvatore and put that money back in the safe. We need to get ready for the auction.”
I watch through blurred vision as the two bodies are dragged across the floor. Nausea coils inside of me when a hand grips my bicep, jerking me to a standing position.
“There she is.”
I blink, my eyes opening wide to see the man in front of me. I’ve seen him before, but I can’t place him.
“We finally meet.” He runs a finger along my chin before pinching it between his fingertips. “You look like her.”
“Who are you?” I choke out.
“Elias Barcelo.” He grins. “I’m your father.”
Chapter fifty-eight
Locke
I’m just pulling into the estate when I get a phone call from Presley.
“Hello.”
“Locke.” Her tone is off, her voice nervous, and my body goes rigid.
“What’s wrong?”
“It’s Raven. I came to pick her up from Gemma’s, but no one is answering the door. Has she called you? I’ve called her like ten times. Could something be wrong?” She asks.
I close my eyes. Presley is completely in the dark on everything that’s been happening, which is a curse and blessing all in one.
“No, I haven’t talked to her. But listen. Hendrix should be down the street in a black SUV. Go to him, I’m on my way.”
“Why is Hendrix here?”
“Ask questions later, Presley,” I say before hanging up.
Hendrix had texted me when Raven went inside. It’s been two and a half hours, but he hasn’t updated.
I dial him.
“Locke,” he answers.
“Where is she?” I bark out, shifting the car into reverse.
“Tracker says she’s still inside,” he says.
I hear Presley in the background, her voice rising as Hendrix tries to calm her.
“I’m on my way. Keep her with you. I know you can’t go inside.”
“Alright.”
I press the gas, forging forward to the road leading into Stone Crest. Hendrix can’t go inside the house even if he wanted to. Vampires have to be invited in by the homeowner, otherwise, entrance is impossible.
