She let out a little squeal and positioned herself in his lap, leaning back against his chest, and stretched her arms out. He dipped his chin to her shoulder. “Smile!” she said.

She pushed the button, and the camera whirled for a couple of seconds before spitting out the picture. Megan pulled it out and said before he could shift, “Another one!”

He rolled his eyes but didn’t protest. Especially when she moved in close, snuggling up to him. “Hmmm…I like that.”

Aidan ended up letting her take two more—one of her kissing his cheek and one of him nibbling on her neck—before he took it from her hands. “Okay, enough for now. We’ve got other plans.”

She moved off his lap, but her feet barely touched the floor before she found herself upside down over his shoulder. “Aidan! What are you doing?”

“I need to show you all those places that I need kissed. And we’ve got a couple of hours before I need to be at work.” He smacked her sheet-covered ass, and all she could do was laugh when she barely felt it.

“Well, I guess we’d better get to work then.”

He laid her down on the bed, tearing the sheet away from her body and shucking his sweatpants. When he covered her body with his, her body hummed, and she closed her eyes giving herself over to his kisses.

One Way Ticket

The followingSaturday dawned cool and sunny, and the waning day promised a crisp, clear fall night, perfect for the festivities that had taken over the town square.

The week leading up to the fall festival in town had made Megan’s head spin. The Silver Moon and the sheriff’s department were both geared up for the tourists that descended on the normally quiet, small town by the end of the week. Even though Megan had grown up in cities, she expected the chaos there. It was unexpected for a mountain town.

Marcus had hired on a few college students to help serve for the season, which Charley told her started with the fall festival and didn’t let up until New Year’s. He’d already hired another bartender in anticipation of her impending departure, which was the only reason she was able to work the day shift that Saturday and meet Aidan for the festival.

Megan did her best not to think about the fact that her time in Madison Ridge was coming to a close. She’d heard from Jake at the beginning of the week letting her know that all but one of the parts he needed had come in and the repairs were moving along nicely.

And while she and Aidan hadn’t seen each other all that much over the past week, when they did, they had a hard time keeping their hands to themselves. The man’s appetite was voracious, and it seemed he could exist on a couple of hours of sleep. Megan caught herself yawning in the middle of her shift a couple of times but managed to cover it up.The truth was she felt amazing. Sure, she’d traded beauty rest for phenomenal sex, but she’d once read orgasms made the skin glow and she was all for that.

Her skin must be positively radiant right about now.

Megan wasn’t sure she’d ever had so many orgasms in her life, certainly not in one week, and definitely not more than two in one night. Aidan had shattered that record a couple of nights before. Just thinking about it made her skin tingle and her panties damp.

What the hell was she going to do when she left?

“Okay, chickadee. What’s going on with you?” Charley sidled up next to the bar where Megan was arranging bottles. Or was supposed to be arranging bottles for the next shift.

“Nothing’s going on. Why?”

“Because you’ve been staring at that wall of liquor like you’ve never seen it before, and I’ve watched you try to cover up yawning for the last hour. I give a solid A for effort, though.”

Maybe she wasn’t hiding the no sleep thing as well as she thought.

“I just didn’t get a lot of sleep last night.”

“Really?” Charley drew out the two syllable word into four.

“Yep. Just a case of insomnia is all.”

Charley nodded. “Must be something about that cabin. I saw Aidan earlier today at the bakery, and he said the same thing when I asked why he was dragging ass.”

Just hearing the man’s name made her pulse bump harder. And then snatches of their nightly antics would play in her head like a montage in a movie. Heat grew in her face.

“Hello, Megan?” Charley snapped her fingers in front of Megan’s face.

Megan jerked her head back and looked over at Charley. “What?” She sighed and shook off the daydreams, facing her friend squarely. “Charley, I’m fine. I promise.”

The younger woman crossed her arms over the black T-shirt she had on for work, a frown on her lips. “You finally did the deed with Aidan, didn’t you?”
