"They were expensive and sold out fast." She shrugs, trying to seem casual about it, but I can see the disappointment. "It's fine. I'll still get to see some panels and signings."

James pauses and reaches into his messenger bag by the door, rummaging for a moment before pulling out a lanyard with a VIP pass attached.

"Here." He holds it out to her. "I had a spare."

Rebecca stares at it, then at him, mouth open. "You... what?"

"A spare VIP pass." He presses it into her hand gently. "Take it."

"James, I can't—that's too much?—"

"You can. You will." That voice, brooking no argument. "Consider it a gift."

Her eyes go wide and shining, disbelief written all over her face. She looks down at the pass, back up at James, then at all of us.

And then she smiles.

Huge and radiant and completely unguarded. Pure joy lighting up her face.

The sex was incredible. Watching her come apart was the hottest thing I've ever seen. But this smile? This pure happiness over a bloody convention pass?

This might be even better.

Fuck. I'm in trouble. We all are.

"I can't believe this is real," she whispers, clutching the pass. "Any of this. You three. This weekend. Now this." She laughs, breathless and amazed. "Thank you. God, thank you."

"Our pleasure, love," James says softly.

"Definitely our pleasure," Luca adds, grinning at her grin.

She looks at me, still beaming. "I'll see you downstairs?"

"One hour," I confirm, already counting the minutes. "Don't be late, sweetheart."

"I won't." She glances at Luca, ready. "One hour!"

Luca opens the door for her and follows her out, the door clicking shut behind them.

I look at James. "A spare pass?"

He smirks, pleased with himself. "I may have acquired an extra. Just in case."

"Just in case you met a gorgeous book nerd at the bar who needed one?" I shake my head, grinning. "You're a scheming bastard."

"And you're welcome." James grabs his messenger bag and checks his watch. "I need to head down. Meeting some authors about upcoming projects before my panel."

"Networking."

"Precisely." He heads for the door, then pauses and looks back at me. "Take care of her, Leo."

"Always."

He nods, satisfied, and then he's gone.

I'm alone in the suite. Just me and the smell of sex and her lingering perfume.

One hour. Then I get to walk into that convention with Rebecca on my arm.
