“Your Grace, it is much appreciated,” Cezar said.
“No need to thank me. Keep serving me well.” Hegna glanced around the small car and gave each man a nod of respect.
Cezar, Kendrick, Rodin, and Joran were loyal to her. They’d fought alongside her for years. They were her detail that she had chosen to travel with her. She had left Bijou, her second-in-command, and her captain of her army, Nezera, in charge. Those women would keep everything running smoothly in her absence.
Hegna was one lucky vampire to have such a team surrounding her, and she appreciated each and every one of them. A future queen would need to be surrounded by those she could trust. If ever one of them were to betray her, it would gut her, but it wouldn’t keep her from killing them.
They arrived with a ding of the bell, deep underground where they were met with sensual music.
Hegna exited the elevator behind Cezar and Kendrick. She ran her tongue along her fangs, the desire for blood growing inside her. The hall was short, but the club was visible around the stone columns.
Everything about the establishment was pleasing to the eyes. This one was decorated almost the same as the club back in Black Hollows. Sheer black curtains hung from the ceiling. There were plenty of chaises, long chairs for anyone to use them as they pleased. Naked bodies were everywhere. Women being taken up against a wall, men being bent over with their lovers behind them, all crying out their ecstasy. The air was filled with the delicious aroma of sex and blood.
Human servants walked around with transparent clothes that alluded to what was underneath them.
Men and women were enjoying the carnal pleasures that were offered.
Open feedings were occurring. Hegna’s own arousal heightened. This was exactly where she needed to be. Not in some stuffy room strategizing about a lycan alpha. Tonight was her night to release. She’d worry about war in the morning.
“Your Grace.” A small woman in a silk black robe, pale skin, and large blue eyes appeared in front of their group. Her dark hair was pulled up into a high bun, showcasing her neck.
Cezar and Kendrick parted to allow Hegna to walk to the front to greet the woman.
“My name is Opal. I am Madam Rice’s assistant, and I must apologize for the delay of your entrance.”
“It’s quite all right, Opal. Please share with Madam Rice that it shouldn’t happen again,” Hegna growled.
“I agree. With the string of lycan attacks, we’ve had to up our security and screening to protect our patrons.” Opal bowed her head before glancing back up to meet Hegna’s gaze.
“I will discuss this with my sister and ensure there is enough protection in this area for your fine establishment,” Hegna said.
Her gaze drifted away to a female vampire being serviced by two human males. Her cries were growing louder as each male was pounding into her simultaneously.
“We would offer many thanks. If you come this way, Your Grace, I have a special area reserved for you. Would your entire party be staying together?” Opal asked, eyeing the five men with Hegna.
“My men are free to go where they please. Send the bill to my house,” Hegna instructed. She turned and nodded to her men. She would not need protection. Hegna was a deadly vampire and didn’t need coddling.
Her guards returned the nod, separating and leaving her side. Hegna raised an eyebrow at Corbin.
“I’ll be at your side, as always.” He smirked. He shrugged and moved to her side.
Hegna bit back a chuckle. She knew he would be changing his mind and probably leaving her side once he saw someone who captured his attention.
“Please, follow me,” Opal said. She spun around on her heel and led them through the club.
The building was windowless, protecting vampires from the sun. There were tastefully erotic paintings hanging on the walls. Madam Rice ensured that all of her facilities were top notch. There was even a bar on one side that provided alcohol and blood, for those vampires who may not want live donors. Madam Rice even offered lodging at her establishment for those who may need a place to stay to wait for the sun to go down, or for those who chose to have privacy with their donors.
Hegna walked with her head held high. Some vampires who weren’t completely busy with their humans gave her appropriate nods of greeting. Opal guided them to an area at the back of the club that allowed them to have an open view of everything. There were large columns with drapes that could be pulled closed should they desire to keep their party private.
There was a comfortable half-circular bench with plush pillows for them to sit. A low, round table was perched in front of the sofa. Directly behind the seating was a massive bed topped with a comfortable-looking mattress and tons of pillows.
“Is this to your liking?” Opal asked.
Corbin went over and took a seat on the couch while Hegna stood near a pillar. She leaned against it and eyed the club. She quickly made all of the exits, the warrior in her calculating how fast she and her men could be out if something were to occur. Satisfied with what she saw, she gave a nod before turning to Opal.
“It is exceptional,” she replied.
Opal brightened at the compliment.
