“Watch what you say, Brianna,” Dreven growled behind her.

His alpha waves hit her, and her wolf fought the powers but was slowly losing.

“My name is Damara,” she corrected, her animal writhing inside her at his show of force.

“Well, whatever you want to call yourself. It was my people who took you in and treated you like family.” Dreven paused in front of her with a few bags in his hand.

Five years she’d respected him and thought him to be a kind and thoughtful alpha.

But now, he was showing her his true colors.

She would never respect a man who would take away her choice of mating.

Forcing a mating was cruel, and it stripped everything from the female.

“I speak only the truth,” she whimpered before he pulled back on his alpha waves.

“Well, we’ll see how you feel once we’re mated.” Dreven chuckled, walking past her.

Her skin crawled at the thought of his mouth on her skin. Bile threaten to rise with her imagining him pressing against her or running his tongue along her shoulder.

She shuddered and tried to focus on something pleasant or she’d spill the contents of her stomach on the ground.

She observed them setting up camp as if it were any other day. Heath got the fire going while Dreven pitched small tents a few feet behind the tree stumps.

“Gavin!”She called his name inside her mind. She wished they would have gone ahead and mated, but she knew Gavin had wanted to wait until the perfect time.

When her memory had returned.

In his quest to ensure she remembered everything about them and start their future, they may have run out of time.

She had faith Gavin and his men would rescue her.

She just had to hold on and be patient.

She remained silent as she watched the two men work together putting the last touches on the camp. Jeff had been gone for a while, and she was sure he’d be returning soon. She glanced around and took in their surroundings. They were in the middle of nowhere. Even if she were to break free from the ropes tying her hands together, she’d have to make a run for her life.

Dreven and his men would hunt her down.

“Look what I have here.”

Her gaze swiveled to the thick brush. Jeff stepped from it with three large rabbits in his hands.

“Took you long enough. For as long as you were gone, that’s all you caught?” Heath chuckled, walking over to him. “You could have at least caught a small deer or something. I’m starving.”

“This was a quick hunt. Once we get home, then we feast to celebrate the mating,” Jeff replied with a shrug. He sat on the logs opposite her and broke out a knife from the bag perched next to him. He began skinning the rabbits and preparing them for cooking.

Damara choked back bile at the thought of mating Dreven. He must have caught the expression on her face. His eyes narrowed on her, and his nostrils flared. He stalked to her and stood before her. His fingers gripped her chin and forced her head back so he could meet her eyes.

“You look like that now. Just wait. I’ll make you forget your precious Gavin.”

She automatically released a snort. Never in a million years could Dreven do anything to erase what was between her and Gavin.

“I don’t think that will ever happen. If you mate with me, how would it feel to know that your mate would think of another man every time you touched her? She would be dreaming of the times that other man’s cock was deep inside her every time you brought your pitiful dick out. How would that make you feel?” she asked.

His grip tightened on her chin, but she didn’t feel any pain.

Dreven snarled, cocked his hand back, and sent it flying toward her. She braced for it, seeing stars the minute his hand connected with her face. She flew sideways, landing on the ground with a whimper. Her head slammed into something hard, and a ripple of pain exploded in her temple. She blinked, unable to see as darkness rushed up and greeted her.
