“Here, ma’am. I can show you to the lobby.” Dr. Simpson motioned for her to follow him.

The two disappeared from the room, leaving Damara alone with Gavin.

“Come here,” Gavin murmured, pulling her up from the chair.

She gratefully went into his open embrace. His strong arms enclosed around her, comforting her. She breathed in his familiar scent.

“Any good news?” His warm breath blew out against her ear.

She shook her head before stepping back to look him in the eye. “Depends on what you think is good news. He couldn’t see anything that would be causing my memory loss.”

His large hand cupped her cheek. She basked in the feel of him gently rubbing her skin.

“It will come to you. Don’t try to force it. We have eternity for you to remember.”

Her lips tilted up in a small smile. Staring into his eyes, she believed him. He had so much faith that she would gain her memory back. Doubt crept up in the back of her mind.

What if I don’t remember?

It scared her. Downright terrified her to think she would continue on with a large chunk of her life missing.

Eternity?

She laid her hand on his chest and blew out a deep breath.

Did they have eternity? Dreven was on his way to her, and he would ensure she kept her promise, but one glance into Gavin’s eyes, and it was clear as day he’d never let her go.

“Gavin, Dreven is a strong wolf—”

“And he will die by my hands if he thinks he will take you from me.”

“I’m going to take her home with me,” Gavin murmured.

Irvin stood by the driver’s-side window of his truck. The older wolf glanced over at the sleeping Damara in the passenger seat and smiled.

“You two belong together. Don’t let that other alpha take my baby girl away.” Irvin’s smile disappeared with the seriousness of his request.

Gavin’s wolf rumbled in his chest. He’d be damned if another man would come to lay claim on what was his.

“I promise you as alpha, Irvin, Damara will be staying here where she belongs.”

Elizabeth made her way to her mate’s side and wrapped her arms around his waist.

“We’ve prayed for the day that she would return. This is fate, Gavin. She was meant to be with you. Claim her,” Elizabeth urged.

Gavin paused, gripping the steering wheel. His wolf was very much in agreement with the Jacksons. He’d like nothing better than sinking his canines in her soft skin and marking her as his forever.

But he wanted it done right.

He wanted her to come to their mating with her full memory intact.

“We’ll speak later of our mating. Let me get her home.”

Home.

The words settled his wolf. Damara would be sleeping in the bed that was meant for them. The one where they were to create their future.
