“My turn.”

Gulp.

CHAPTER6

COLTON

“My turn,” I tell her. “Date number two. I think we should continue theget to know youphase with some games.”

Winnie’s throat works past the second vocal gulp in a matter of minutes, and when she speaks, her voice trembles with nerves that she valiantly attempts to tamp down. “What kind of games?”

I grin. Drop my gaze to her lips, and my grin grows impossibly larger.

“My brother had a lot of luck winning over his wife playing Never Have I Ever.”

Her hands fly to her luscious hips, and I clench my jaw to keep from groaning. Jesus, what I wouldn’t do to give those hips a squeeze. Hard. Realizing that I’m literally glaring at her midsection, I tug on my collar again and refocus my gaze.

“Was he sixteen when they met?” she asks sarcastically.

That fucking mouth.

I shake my head. “Are you scared, Winnie?” Something tells me she won’t back down from a challenge.

“Pfft. As if. This is a drinking game, though. Unless you bribed an attendant for mini bottles of liquor when I was in the bathroom, we’re out of luck.”

“We can always modify the rules, Win.” My tone is smooth confidence, yet I feel anything but suave around her. I’m on edge and insecure. Not two emotions I’m used to. I also can’t seem to keep the distance between us, and my feet move of their own accord in her direction. “The first one to raise their hand for ten never have I evers loses, and has to choose truth or dare.”

Her smile is tentative as she shakes her head. Keeping her gaze averted, she whispers, “I’m going to regret this, aren’t I?”

Oh, baby, but it will feel so good.

“I’ll never make you do anything you don’t want to.” It’s important to me that she realizes I’m not like the other men in her life. “Are you ready, Winnie?”

She nods, and I hold her gaze. “Never have I ever been kissed so good in an airport that I forgot my name.”

She narrows her eyes, but raises her hand.

“Never have I ever had sex on an airplane.” She smirks, confident in the question, but her eyes go comically round when I don’t raise my hand. “Bullshit. You’re telling me you’ve had sex on a plane before?”

I nod slowly, never allowing her to break eye contact as that information sinks in.

“How is that even possible? You’re like a giant. How would you even fit?” She stops mid-sentence and holds her hand up to stop me from speaking. “Never mind. I don’t want to know details.”

“I don’t always fly commercial, Win. My turn.” Her pupils dilating is my only indication that I’m ruffling her. “Are you ready, sweetheart?”

With her face in flames, she nods.

“Never have I ever been arrested.”

Winnie huffs as she raises her hand.

This is almost too easy.

“I’m pretty sure you tricked me,” Winnie complains.

“Sweetheart,” I coo, “there was no trickery involved. I won fair and square.”
