Lanie snorts. “It’s funny because it’s true.”

When we compose ourselves, Lanie pulls out a three-ring binder. “Okay. I’ve got this. You’ve never daydreamed about your wedding, but now you can. So, I’m going to ask you a series of questions. I want you to answer them honestly and quickly. Your gut reaction. Got it?”

“Sure.”I can do this, right?

A bright smile lights up her face. “Princess or sexy vixen?”

“Uh …”

“Answer quickly. Your first reaction, just blurt it out,” Lexi orders.

“Princess.” I glance around. Everyone’s so invested in making this my day. It’s a little overwhelming.

“Traditional or modern?”

“Traditional.”

“Fancy night out or comfy night in?”

“Comfy night in.”

“Flowers or balloons?”

“What?”

“Answer. Quick, quick.” Rylan laughs.

“Gah. Flowers.”

“Navy or black?”

“Navy. What does that have to do with a wedding?” I’m so confused, but I can’t stop giggling either.

“You’ll see,” Lanie promises.

“Sit down dinner or buffet?”

“Sit down. Buffets gross me out. What if someone sneezes?”

“Roses or lilies?”

“Neither?” I ask. “I’ve always been more of a wildflower kind of girl.”

Lanie’s eyes glisten. “Wildflowers it is. I think we just planned your wedding. We’ll need to go dress shopping, obviously, but that’s an experience in itself.”

“What do you mean, we planned it?”

“Yup. Guys will wear navy suits. We’ll decorate with wildflowers, have a sit-down dinner, and you liked the lemon cake best. I saw it on your face.”

“And lemon is Colton’s favorite,” Rylan says through a giant bite of chocolate cake.

“It is?” I ask, turning toward her. “Shouldn’t I know that?”

“Nah,” Lexi says dismissively. “I married East one drunken night in Vegas that neither of us really remembers. I knew next to nothing about him except he was a giant ass. Cake flavors are just details you get to spend the rest of your life figuring out.”

A car door slams, and I’m on my feet as panic sets in. “It’s too early for them to be home. Why are they home?”

Lanie, who is closest to the window, looks outside. “False alarm. It’s just GG. She doesn’t like being left out of stuff.”
