Fuck. How did she do it, render me speechless? “Kensi?” I grabbed her hips to push her away, Instead, I held her to me. She felt so good against my body, the perfect fit, and she smelled powdery sweet, like marshmallows and flowers.

“I thought you might push me away,” she murmured with a shy smile that melted my insides.

“You’ve tackled me before.” I went for humor because I didn’t know how to handle what was happening between us.

She lowered her gaze and then her eyes found mine again. “I have a room.”

“I figured.” Our families were staying the night.

“Wanna come see it?”

She wasn’t implying what I thought she was, was she? I cleared my suddenly tight throat. “Wh-what for?”

A soft laugh escaped her. “Well, I could either tell you or show you. I’d rather show you.”

I opened my mouth, but no words came out.

“I wanted to show you at the beach that one time, in Clearwater, but you left before I had the chance. You don’t have to leave tonight. You can stay with me.”

Ah, fuck. Had anyone ever offered a sweeter deal? Kensi was too naive for her own good. “I hope you don’t make that offer to guys often.”

Our bodies swayed to the slower music. Guess the DJ had decided to change things up without my permission.

“I’ve never made this offer to anyone. I’ve never…” She glanced down and licked her lips. “You’d be my first. I don’t trust anyone else.”

“Is that what this is about? Losing your virginity to someone you trust?” I should have felt honored, not offended.

“It’s about a lot of things. Mostly, me wanting you.” She lifted her chin, hesitated for a few seconds, then pressed her soft lips to mine.

The world stopped moving. Charges danced down my spine. I should have pulled away. Someone might’ve seen us, but then she tilted her head and gave a soft moan.

I tugged her into the shadowed corner and parted her lips with my tongue. She opened easily and moaned again. I couldn’t remember when a kiss had been so innocent and yet so riveting. Our tongues touched, tangled. I felt woozy, like I was drowning in a vat of sweet alcohol. I’d never experienced anything like it, but then sex had never meant more to me than a one-night stand. Kensi was more. She’d always been.

“Kensi, darling?” Her mother’s voice caught my ear.

Shit. I snapped out of it and shoved her back a foot.

She blinked slowly, her lips parted with her heavier breathing. She looked stunned and gorgeous. “Wa…was that my mother?”

I spied Claire perusing the crowd of teenagers not far from where we stood. “She’s looking for you. You better go.”

Please go before we both ended up in trouble. Kensi and I weren’t meant to be. My family knew I was a player, to my mom’s dismay. My dad would have never been okay with me doing anything sexual with Kensi. Her dad would’ve carve me a new asshole.

I wiped my mouth and adjusted myself. I had a damn rager in my pants. This was wrong. Kensi wasn’t even eighteen.

“Have you seen Kensi, dear?” her mother asked two girls talking outside of the crowd. They looked toward our direction.

Shit. “Go. Now.” I shoved Kensi into the light, my heart in a panic.

Her mother spotted her and made her way to her dazed daughter. I used the moment to escape. Never again. Never again would I come to another party or event. For both our sakes.

Someone bumps into me, rocking me on my feet and bringing me back to the present.

I glance around in disarray, searching the airport for the redhead, certain it was Kensi. No one else smells like marshmallow and flowers. No wonder I was drawn to her.

I hustle to the escalators in the direction she went. As soon as I step on, I glimpse her burgundy hair before she disappears from my sight.

At least she’s headed toward baggage claim. But how does she know where to go? She’s never been here before. MCO isn’t simple, with different levels that have you going up and down multiple elevators, and it’s under construction, which makes it even more confusing.
