I just want to remind everyone that the record-levels of rain and the amount of mud on the festival grounds was the impetus for the date change!

But the reason it was May and not March or April was because of the “interim” mayor. Let’s remember that when it comes time for an actual mayoral vote.

I’d just love to see some other changes. Like, why can’t we have more rides? Or a bigger variety of fried foods?

It definitely was too hot. Personally, I was happy with the plethora of fried foods as well as cakes.

Also, how long will this interim mayor be seated? Because I don’t remember voting him in. I thought we were going to have a special election?

The interim mayor position was chosen by the City Council after a Town Hall meeting in which no consensus could be made. This seemed the best course of action in accordance with the town by-laws wherein an interim mayor may be appointed by the council if an elected mayor passes away or is no longer fit for the position.
