His fingers tighten gently against my skin. “I love you, Beth. And I can’t wait to see our child come into the world.”
“I feel the same way. I hope we don’t end up with twins or anything like that.”
“The sonogram only showed one baby,” he reminds me. “It’s too early to tell if it’s a boy or girl.”
“As long as the baby’ healthy and happy, I don’t care. I’ll love them just the same.”
