"All of it."
He chuckled. "Do you want to?"
She laughed. "I want to scream it to the world."
"Then let's tell them. I'd actually like them to be at the wedding. So I changed my mind about it just being the two of us. They're all a huge part of our lives."
She laughed. "I'm glad to hear that. I'd love for them to be there too."
"Don't tell them initially I planned to cut them out," he chuckled. "I got caught up in wanting to have you to myself. But we'll have each other for the rest of our lives."
She giggled. "I love the sound of that."
They stood together on their bluff, taking in the evening sky and enjoying the peace and quiet of their new home. At least the site of their new home.
A thought ran through her mind, and she stood taller. "Axel?"
"Yeah."
He turned and looked into her eyes. "Why don't we get married right here. Standing here on top of our bluff."
He laughed. It was beautiful and spontaneous and wonderful. "Yes. I love that idea."
She stood on her toes and kissed him once more. "Sealed with a kiss."
Chapter Thirty-Nine
Axel's heart felt so full he worried it would explode. They'd worked up Maddyn's song with their bandmates, ate a fantastic dinner and came home together. Mads changed into cute little pajamas and snuggled into the corner of the sofa. He sat next to her and pulled her into his arms.
"We can go to bed, Mads."
"She glanced at her watch. "It's only just after ten."
"You've been awake since three."
She nodded. "Yeah. I'm ready."
He stood and pulled her up, then held her hand as they sauntered down the hallway to bed.
After they crawled into bed, he pulled her close to his body. She snuggled in tightly and he stared at the way the moonlight played with the trees outside and created a movie on his ceiling. He was tired, but he was also incredibly excited about their future. Tomorrow he'd call the dealership and let them know about the accident. And find out when his car would be ready. Then he was going to write Mads a song and sing it to her on their wedding day. He'd always dreamed of that. They were musicians; it was normal and natural for them to sing or perform during special times.
He fell asleep thinking about the words he wanted to sing to Mads as she became his wife.
Axel woke to his phone ringing. Mads sat up and brushed her hands down her face as he rolled over and picked his phone off the nightstand.
"Peters."
"Axel, this is Mitch."
He scooted back to rest his back on the headboard and glanced at Mads. "Good morning, Mitch."
Maddyn's eyebrows rose into the air. She turned to face him as he put Mitch on speaker.
"Good morning. I wanted to update you on the Lacey situation."
Axel nodded, but looked into Maddyn's beautiful green eyes. "Go ahead, I have you on speaker and Maddyn is here."
"Good. Good morning, Maddyn. I just got off the phone with the police chief here in Blossom Springs, Trey Fielding. He said after an investigation into Lacey, and by investigation, he meant they've interviewed her family, her co-workers, and her friends. They also searched her apartment. They found she had fixated on you after the concert you all performed at in Mitchell Springs."
