Jer:

You better not be at that party tonight with that boy. So help me, Sky, I will walk in there and take you back to my house, kicking and screaming. Don’t toy with me.

Looking down at Olive, I raise a brow.

“I have to fucking answer him otherwise he will never leave me alone,” I tell her, and she nods.

Me:

I’m not at the party.

Jer:

Well, why aren’t you answering me?

Me:

I was in the shower.

Jer:

I thought we had plans this weekend. It’s Saturday. Tell your parents you are sleeping out. Pack a bag and come over.

Me:

Okay. I’ll see you soon.

Jer:

Good girl.

Closing my phone, I slide it into my pocket and leave my room with the girls at my side. We leave the house and head down the block. Olive and Sadie skip ahead of me, hand in hand, singing softly into the night. It’s eerily quiet out here. All you can hear is the crickets chirping and the sounds of our feet hitting the pavement as we head towards the cemetery. They will have to pass me to get home since Vaughn lives on the opposite side of the neighborhood than us. For years, we tried to make a trail next to the gates along Savannah's house to connect us to thenext street. But every time we got anywhere the next day, it would be gone.

Pushing the fence open, I light some candles and play soft music, lighting a joint. I can’t set up deeper in the cemetery because they won’t spot me. I giggle, spinning the dolls around in my arms.

“Alright, alright. You’re going to make me puke.” Olive groans.

“Yeah, I’m getting a little green here,” Sadie adds, and I laugh harder, blowing smoke in their faces.

“You do realize we are dolls and we don’t get high right?” Olive says, and I roll my eyes.

“I hear them coming. I need them to do their thing so forgive me if I’m acting extra childish tonight.” I fire back, and it's her turn to roll her violet eyes.

“Places people,” She barks, and me and Sadie both laugh. “For fucks sake you two. Get it together,” she scolds, only making me laugh harder.

“Well, well. If it isn’t the fat pig, oinking at a bunch of dolls. How pathetic can you get.” Clara spews, and I narrow my eyes.

“That’s rich coming from a bald headed bitch like you,” I taunt, knowing it will only piss her off. She steps through the gates, coming right for me. Once she steps into my space, I notice everything goes deadly still, and the air becomes frigid as a sheet of ice forms above me, cracking and popping all around us, creating a dome of protection. My head whips around to my dolls, and I see Sadie’s hand whirling around us in the circle. I look up, staring at the ice she created and it's absolutely gorgeous. She looks at me and smiles.

“What the hell is this? Why are we in a dome?” Clara asks in a panic-stricken tone, and I just smile.

“This is creepy, I want to go home.” Donna shivers.

“Yeah, I don’t like this,” June adds as she wraps her arms around her waist.

“Just a little magic so no-one can hear you scream,” Olive says, sinisterly, and they do just that. Screams permeate through our barrier, and I laugh while the blistering cold wind picks up around us and thick vines crawl out from the trees, wrapping around their bodies, holding them in place as the thorns sink into their flesh.

“What the fuck, this can’t be real!” Clara squeals, thrashing against the vines, which only seem to get tighter the more she moves.
