"Please, Seth." She moved my hand back between her thighs. I slid one finger inside and then two, pumping until she was wild again. Hoarsely, she said, "I need you."
My plan was to take my time. I rolled on a condom. Like a wanton beast, she pushed me over onto my back. My shoulder might've smarted, but I didn't care. Nothing mattered but this, and her. I tried to slow her down, to enjoy this by holding her hips steady, but one tease from her and my body surged upward at the same moment she came down. Deep in the clutch of her, I was lost. Each time she took more of me, her body called to mine. There was no other person for me. It was only Joley.
She thew her head back and ground herself against me until her body shuddered. A keening cry left her as her body clamped me tight. Her head arched backward, exposing the elegant pale column of her throat. The pulsating vise clamp on my dick had me arching upward off the bed. Stars dotted my vision. I pounded into her as she held on.
"Don't stop," she urged. "I didn't…never…oh, my God." The wonder in her tone and on her face unraveled me. I muttered incoherent words as everything exploded. Her. Me. The world.
When we stilled, I stared at her in amazement.
We both started laughing at once.
"That was…" She sobered.
"Everything," I finished.
"Yeah."
I fucking loved this girl. This could be my brain in a post-sex haze.
Now it made sense why I didn't want to date anyone else. Why I'd held out.
It was her taste. Her body. Her...everything. I don't think I'll ever want anyone in my life like this.
I had to figure out how to make her stay. That meant getting her to let me fight her dragons and slay them.
ChapterTwenty-Five
SETH
My phone dinged on the nightstand. I didn't even know what time it was or how long Joley and I had dozed. A click to brighten the screen showed it wasn't even after eleven. I stared at the message, confused.
"What's wrong?" Joley's breath tickled my chest where she rested against my good shoulder.
"Someone from the department will be coming by in a few minutes."
"What?" She jumped up to do a frantic dance of gathering clothes and dressing.
"What're you doing? They won't care that you're here."
She bent away from me to put on her shoes, but I thought I heard her say, "They're comingbecauseI'm here. Damn him."
I didn't think I heard her right. "What? Damn who?"
Fully dressed, which seemed impossible for the mere seconds she'd been out of bed, she leaned over and kissed me. "I have to get out of here."
"What's wrong?" I caught a tear running down her face. I pushed to a sit, moved my shoulder wrong, and winced.
"Oh, God. Be careful." She smoothed a hand down my arm. "We didn't hurt you, did we?"
"No."
She leaned in to kiss me. "I don't ever want to hurt you. It kills me that I do. That I will."
"What's going on?" I grabbed her hand when she started to move away. "Who's threatening you?"
"I love you too much to put you at risk. I shouldn't be here."
My mind stalled out on the "love" word. She loved me?
