“He’s just excited. I’m new to him.”
A little while later, when I drifted into sleep curled against Parker’s side with Fuzzy asleep between our feet, I realized thisfelt better than I could’ve imagined. Whenever I expected to feel awkward with Parker, it never happened.
The following morning, I woke up to Fuzzy licking my face with his paws on the side of the mattress.
“I’ll get him.” Parker’s voice was gruff from sleep.
“I’ll walk out with you.” I sat up when I felt him roll away.
The sight of Parker, first thing in the morning, sent my belly into flips. Shirtless with his hair rumpled, well, it was a lot to take in. He flashed me a sleepy smile. “You don’t have to.”
When his eyes dropped down, heat washed over my skin and my nipples tightened as if waving good morning to him. He closed his eyes, his shoulders rising with a deep breath.
When he opened them again, he chuckled. “Luna, you are a walking distraction for me.” He swung his feet off the mattress.
“I’m not walking,” I pointed out. I quickly tugged on a pair of fleece pants and top and followed him down the stairs.
Fuzzy bounded out of the door, pausing briefly to glance at Parker. “Go ahead.” Parker gestured forward. We walked down the steps while Fuzzy sniffed along the trees before peeing about four times in a row and spending several minutes to find the right place for phase two.
Parker glanced over at me. “It always takes him a few minutes in the morning. He has to find the exact right spot,” he said with a chuckle.
Our breath misted in the chilly morning air. The landscape was coated in frost, glittering where the early rays of the sun cast over it. Parker startled me when he reached for my hand and stepped close, his eyes burning into mine as he murmured, “Good morning,” just before he dipped his head to give me a kiss.
The feel of his lips was a hot contrast to the cold air. My entire body felt electrified from the touch. “Good morning,” I whispered when he lifted his head.
It felt like my heart was smiling. When Parker’s lips kicked up at the corner, my belly shimmied. “I’m really glad I found you again,” I added.
The moment was broken when Fuzzy came galloping over, letting out a bark and shimmying between our knees to take part in the embrace. After Parker fed Fuzzy, he tugged me into the shower.
Showering with Parker was pretty much the best thing ever. For one, I got an up close and personal view. Just watching the water roll over his muscled back made my knees weak. When he turned around and lifted his head out of the water to smile at me, I thought I might melt on the spot.
When he kissed me and cupped my breasts, teasing my nipples to aching peaks before he sucked one and then the other into his warm mouth, I braced myself against the tiled wall. A moment later, he lifted his head, saying, “Condom.”
We stumbled out of the shower before he lifted my hips onto the bathroom counter and brought his mouth to my sex. A fierce climax echoed through me moments later, my hands clenching the bathroom counter as I trembled all over.
His eyes held mine, a hint of a question there. “We can stop now, if you want.”
I shook my head, pulling him closer as he rolled a condom on. His gaze was a flame, joining the one burning in my own heart. When he nudged himself at my entrance, I was impatient and rocked restlessly toward him. He filled me in a slow, deep thrust. There was a twinge of soreness, but I savored the feel of him filling me.
He rocked in deep nudges as my legs dangled down over the edge of the counter, the angle creating an intense friction where we were joined. I was chasing my pleasure with each subtle thrust inside of me. All the while, his eyes held mine, and Icouldn’t look away. He reached between us, pressing his fingers precisely where I needed them.
My head fell back, and I cried out, shuddering all over as the pleasure broke through me in intense shocks. He said my name, his voice gruff, on the heels of a ragged breath as his hand on my hip tightened. I could feel the shivering tautness before his head fell into the curve of my neck. His breath gusted across my skin.
I loved the feel of him holding me close. I could’ve stayed like that for hours, but his phone began to ring. I could feel him tense slightly, and he lifted his head, smoothing my hair back before he gave me a lingering kiss. “That’s work.”
“Work? What do you mean?” I had to gather myself, pulling my thoughts out of the haze.
“That’s the ring when we’re getting called out,” he explained.
“Does this mean you’re going out to a fire?”
Chapter Nineteen
PARKER
I kissed Luna fiercely and reluctantly forced myself to break away.
“That means we’re going out to a fire.”
