“Thank-you present then.Didn’t get you one of those.”
“I’m sure we can figure something out.”
Corvin groaned.“And there it is.You only want me for my body, and you’ve been plotting to get me to submit to you, put on your blindfold, and beg.”
“I don’t have a blindfold.”Mike sounded amused.
“Hah!Not denying the rest of it!I got your number now, Pineapple Mike!”
“You sure do.Careful now, we’re going down three steps.”Mike tightened his hold on Corvin, the arm banded across Corvin’s belly firm and welcome.
“We’re going down to the den?”Corvin asked, taking the first step, then the second, then the third.
When they got to the bottom, Mike kissed Corvin’s cheek.“Not quite.Open.”
Please don’t let it be some weird surprise party.Corvin opened his eyes.It wasn’t a surprise party. It was much, much better.
The den was south facing, the large windows letting in lots of golden October light.Corvin’s jaw dropped.
“You see, this isn’t my den anymore.I turned it into your library.”
The walls had been fitted with bookshelves that were made to look inbuilt, and lower shelves had been added to partition off a reading corner with a low couch that looked ridiculously inviting with the mountain of cushions on it.In the room’s center, a round bookshelf doubled as a table, with the base made up of shelves. The new chairs were large enough to curl up in with a good book and a big mug of coffee or hot chocolate.
Corvin knew that all his books would feel at home here, and that there was enough space to go out and buy more books.More importantly, he knewhewould feel at home here, and since there was enough room for two people to read, he was hopeful he wouldn’t be alone.
“You…”
“Yes?”Mike said, sounding annoyingly pleased with himself.“Do you think there’s enough shelf space?”
Corvin turned and looked at Mike, standing one step above him and grinning from ear to ear.
“I want you to fuck me.Now.”
Mike’s eyes sparkled, and he looked even more pleased with himself.“First you’re upset, then you’re bossy.”He put a finger under Corvin’s chin and turned his face up.“Whatever should I do with you?”
Oh yes, this, pretty please.
Mike bent his head and took Corvin’s mouth. The angle was such that Corvin could only open himself to the assault of Mike’s tongue, could only take and gasp for more. They kissed so long that he saw stars dancing in front of his eyes when breathing became difficult.A moment later, Mike pulled away, and in one quick movement, he reached for Corvin’s wrist and pulled him up the stairs and out of the den—the library—then up to the second floor.
The bedroom was the last door on the left.Corvin couldn’t wait to get there, couldn’t wait to get into bed with Mike, hold him, kiss him.Love him.
“You’re such a silly, silly man.”
“Huh.”
“Pineapple Mike, I love you.”
Mike stopped, mere steps away from the door, spun, and hugged Corvin close.
“I knew you had a drama queen in you.”
“Oh, fucking h—”
Mike put a stop to any talking when he started kissing Corvin urgently, walking them both toward the bedroom. When they finally crossed the threshold, Mike closed the door by pushing Corvin up against it.Fuck, I love it when he gets like this.
Corvin craned his neck to chase Mike’s lips when the other man pulled back.Mike dragged Corvin’s cat sweater up and ran his warm hands over Corvin’s abdomen.Corvin trembled, wanting so much more of this.
Mike’s lips when they finally resumed kissing, the faint brush of stubble, the sound of Mike’s soft humming, all of it made Corvin forget big cats and odd boss lawyers with strange books on their shelves. All he could think about was getting out of his clothes and into bed with Mike on top of him.
