“No doubt,” I signed back, agreeing wholeheartedly.
Before Pepper could say anything more, my phone buzzed and jumped around on the bed with a text notification.
Royce:I just got back n2 town.U busy?
I looked over at Pepper.“It’s Royce.”
She waved her hand at my phone.“Better answer or else who knows what the guy might do?”She grinned as she was judging my boyfriend, but I knew that she wasn’t being catty, not that Pepper was the catty type.
Me:Just telling Pepper how great u r in the sack
Royce:Five stars?
I started laughing, showing Pepper the text, and I had to let out a deep breath because I really was a lucky freakin’ girl.
Chapter 9

It was the Monday after winter break, and the hussy in me wanted to announce to the entire school that Royce Cameron was rocking my world in the bedroom, but that just wasn’t the thing to do.Even though Pepper knew, it wasn’t anyone’s business, no matter how crazy I felt off the high, and it was one hell of a high.
With us both living with our parents, privacy wasn’t always available, and Royce refused to do anything with me if there was a chance of getting caught by my parents or his.The boy was adamant about protecting my modesty, even though I’d told him about my parents already knowing, and my mother accompanying me to the doctor’s office for birth control.
The appointment had also been a bit awkward, but Mom had been great, asking all the questions that I hadn’t known to ask.After it’d all been said and done, I’d chosen the shot because there was less chance of forgetting to take it.They had also run some blood work to make sure that I wasn’t already pregnant before administering the shot, and by the grace of God, I hadn’t been.
However, that hadn’t been the end of mine and Royce’s stupidity.To date, we’d had sex in his car, a hotel room that he’d rented for one afternoon, and even in one of the janitorial closets at school.I was turning into a regular hoe, hoe, hoe, and poor Royce didn’t have enough willpower to tell me no.
I also never imagined that I would find myself craving him the way that I did whenever we were together.Now, when we weren’t together, the need was a little bit more manageable.However, when we were around one another, I wanted him all the time.It was like I was the guy in the relationship, and he was the girl, so totally backwards.
Still, for the most part, Pepper was a good deterrent.However, with her catching a cold after spending the weekend with her parents up at the snow, she wasn’t at school today, and I’d gotten to know Hudson well enough to know that the guy would guard the door if it would help get his best friend laid.Hudson was all about the ladies and his love for them.
With the bell ringing, ending fifth period, I was walking out the door, Royce already waiting for me outside.It was like the guy raced out of his classes to make sure to meet me at the end of mine.I wasn’t sure how he managed it, but I wasn’t going to question him about it.I was thankful enough to appreciate the gesture, instead of wonder about it.
“Hey, baby,” he said as he grabbed my hand.
“Hey,” I mouthed back as I smiled up at him.
