Finn laughed softly. “You know, that was pretty much Zed’s reaction too. But I’m serious. I could help you get through this pregnancy. Give you more time until we find a cure.”

“Oh, Finn. There’s no—”

Finn shut me up with a kiss before I could complete that sentence. “Yes, there is, and I’m going to find it. Miracles happen, you know. That baby in your belly proves it.”

His conviction left me completely speechless.

“You don’t have to decide anything right away,” Finn said, getting up. “The doctor said something about an ultrasound. Shall we go look at our miracle?”

I cast my gaze to the floor. “It might not even be yours, you know.” I didn’t want to say that, but I had to be honest. Had to make sure he understood.

“No, it’s definitely mine,” Finn said, telling me in not so many words that he would take care of the child, no matter what happened or whether it looked like him or not. Jin wouldn’t get it. That alone made it easier for me to breathe.

“Okay.” I stood, inhaled and took his hand. “Let’s go and have a look.”
