“I have no idea. Though I know Ridge is going, and possibly Zeland.”

My mom makes a weird noise. It’s no secret that Ridge and Zeland are together, and that doesn’t sit well with her since my father adopted Zeland when he was a teenager, or close to it. On top of that, they are also in a relationship with Aspen and Arlo. If I’m honest, I thought it was weird at first—not in a bad way, just in a “Girl, how do you handle that many dicks?” way. Did I ask her that question after I’d had too much champagne when we first met? Yes. Zeland said it wasn’t a problem because he helped her out with the dicks. My face is still probably red from being so embarrassed.

“Text me the address,” I tell her and end the call before she can make any prudish comments about my brothers and their relationship.

Calls with her sour my mood, and I decide to skip my last class for today. The professor uploads his lectures anyway, so I can catch up tonight. I flick off a message to Macey and Adrian telling them I don’t feel well.

After I pocket my phone, I look up to find that the TA is still leaning against the wall. This time he isn’t looking at me; he is staring toward the parking area, and I notice motorbike guy is back.

Silas smiles as the guy removes his helmet.

Ugh, new kink activated: I want someone who looks at me like that.

Chapter Three

Zay

I flop down onto the couch and claim Kain’s lap as my personal pillow.

“What are you doing, big guy?” I ask, tilting my head to look up at him. Without a word, he angles his phone down so I can see the screen. He’s checking on Silas again—I should have guessed. “Stalking your boyfriend through the cameras.” I wiggle to get more comfortable against his solid frame. “Very romantic. Hallmark should make cards for that.”

Kain’s free hand comes up to wrap around my throat, his fingers applying just enough pressure to make me pay attention. “If you keep sassing me like that, I will bend you over this sofa and fuck you so hard I’ll snap you like a twig.”

I smirk at him. Threats like that stopped being menacing a long time ago. Last week he pinned me against the wall for leaving a wet towel on Silas’s bathroom floor. Not because he cared about the towel, but because of the way Silas had gone rigid, his hands clenching and unclenching until Kain stepped in to handle it.

“You’re making me an offer I can’t refuse,” I quip.

Kain snorts. “I think we need to cut Silas off from this bitch he is watching. I don’t care how hot she is, he is going to make a mistake soon.”

“I tried to tell him that being the TA for her class was too risky, but he clearly didn’t listen. And since when does he study criminal?—”

“Since I studied online,” Silas interrupts, popping up out of nowhere. “And the TA gig, the Dean and I have an arrangement.” His mouth twitches, almost into a smile. “I’ve been working on this for three months. I downloaded his browser history, found his gambling debts, and cross-referenced his wife’s shopping habits with their joint account. Call it blackmail if you will.”

“I think it’s time to cut the cord or...” I tell him.

“Or what?” Silas snaps, coming around the sofa so he is now standing in front of us.

Kain sets his phone aside and looks up at Silas without blinking, like a lethal predator deciding whether something is worth the energy to kill. “You know what.”

“Throwing around death threats again, so original,” Silas says, holding out a few pieces of A4 paper.

“What’s this?” Kain grunts and pushes me off his lap.

“A contract. She wants to be stalked, kidnapped even.”

Kain doesn’t reply as he reads the document.

I look over at Silas, who has a shit-eating grin on his face, and it’s rare to see him so happy.

“She wants it to be anonymous? This sounds like a fucking sex contract... how did you get this?” Kain snaps.

I snort. “Do you even need to ask that question?” I snatch the contract from his hands and skim it. I have to admit, it’s genius. Si can stop illegally stalking her and can now do it with her consent. Sure, there is still the gray area of the fact that he was kind of doing it before the contract, but in his defense, he neverapproached her or did anything to make her think she was being followed.

“This could end badly. You know that, right?” Kain says cautiously.

“How?” I look up from the contract. “It seems ironclad to me. She has signed, and it even has her limits and a safe word.”

“Oh, I don’t know—how about the fact that he doesn’t work for Wild Steps? If she finds out, he’s looking at jail time. Or more importantly, what if this obsession gets worse after he fucks her?”
