“How about Raider’s Hook?” he suggests, “They have a good surf and turf setup, can get the best of both worlds.”

I loved going to Raider’s Hook. It was one of my favorites. They had a divine pasta that had fresh basil and tomatoes topping it over a blackened steak that had this delicious creamy sauce. Talk about yummy.

Clearing my throat, I nod once again and smile. “Sure, that sounds good.” No way was I going to let him know that it was a favorite of mine.

“Shall we?” Aziz places a hand at the small of my back and ushers me down the sidewalk.

Raider’s Hook was two blocks away from Dyrk and an easy walk.

Neither of us talks on the way. Aziz keeps his hand at the small of my back. I could feel his touch through my sweater. For a moment, I think about the fact I was smart enough to dress in something that was cute. A black off-the-shoulder sweater, matched with skinny jeans and charcoal gray boots. I do a mental check of my undergarments. Why? I don’t know, but Iremember I put on lacey black cheeky panties and a matching push-up bra.

I didn’t have an abundance of cleavage up top, but I had enough. The push-up bra just helped them not look like they were perky.

But why am I thinking about all of this? I mean, it’s not like we’re going to do more than eat and talk. I wasn’t going to take him home and devour him in my bed.

No way. That’s definitely not something I could see myself doing. I’m a virgin for Pete’s sake.

But why is it I can hear Arely’s words in my head about me meeting a tall, dark, handsome man and giving him my virginity?

I can’t help but keep my hands at the small of Jett’s back while we walk into the restaurant. It’d been my lucky night that I saw her just outside Dyrk when I went to leave. I had planned to go in search of her. I spent the day looking into her, finding out any and all information I could.

It might be an ass move to make, but what can I say when it comes to my job, I’m always thorough. I have to know who I’m around. I couldn’t just trust my sister’s visions.

I found out she had several degrees and volunteered four days a week at the local library. She also spent a lot of time with her friend, Arely, who ran a psychic shop a few blocks away from the nightclub by the park.

A hostess shows us to a table near the back. The booth is curved, situated by a window, and I make sure to slide in close to Jett. The feel of her is something I don’t want to lose by sitting farther away from her than I have to.

“Could I start you off with something to drink?” a waitress asks, no sooner than we take our seats.

“How about a bottle of your Hook’s wine?” I suggest, looking over to Jett to see if that was good with her. Hook’s wine was the establishment’s signature wine, created and made right here in Redwich. The Spiked Raiders definitely knew how to craft a fine wine.

“That’s fine with me,” Jett murmurs, nodding.

“I’ll bring that right out,” the waitress says, slightly bowing her head before she leaves the table.

Looking at Jett, I stretch an arm along the back of the booth. “Won’t lie, I looked into you.”

“You did?” She blinks, shifting slightly to be able to face me a bit more.

“Yeah.”

“Why?” The way her brows furrow is cute as hell.

“Because I wanted to know more about you. I found you intriguing and wanted to be able to find you.”

“So, you just looked into me. Not just looked up my address?”

“I didn’t go deep into your past or anything. I found out you have four degrees, impressive by the way. You also volunteer at the library. And your best friend is a psychic, which is cool.”

“And you know who I am,” she notes.

“I knew that yesterday when I looked at you,” I tell her, clearing my throat.
