“That’ll be one big orgy,” Castor said. “Think you can handle it?”
Bellamy’s eyes darkened, and when he spoke, his voice sounded like pure sex. Lust had taken him over. “The bigger, the better. They’ll be fucking each other too. Just make sure none of you are nearby when I start.”
On any given day, people were attracted to Bellamy, but this ability was strong. Irresistible. The pheromones he released into the air drove anyone who smelled it wild with lust. It made them so horny they’d bang a cactus if it was the only thing available. Okay, maybe notthatextreme, but it was potent. The ultimate distraction, a type of mind-and-body control that completely overpowered the target.
Alastair’s frown deepened. “We swore we’d never use those powers again.”
“I broke that oath when I used Envy against Asa,” Daman said. “Sometimes you have to become the villain in order to beat one.”
“I still like my idea.” A tremor went through Galen’s body before his eyes turned pitch-black. “Simon will be safe. These bastards won’t even see what hit them.”
Alastair weighed our options and decided to combine the two strategies. Castor and Daman would pick off the ones in the watchtowers, and that would allow us to move in closer. Bellamy would seduce the guards at the door before they alerted the others, and then Galen and Raiden would go inside and take down the ones on the first floor.
“You’re coming with me,” Alastair said, holding out a hand to help me up. “I’ll stay far enough back so Belphegor won’t be able to sense me, but close enough to where I can step in if you need me.”
“Okay.” I grabbed his hand, fighting a wave of nerves in my belly.
This is it. It’s really happening.
The last time I spoke to my father had been the night I’d gone to assassinate him nearly two thousand years before. I had seen him from afar since then—like the battle in the Hoia Baciu forest months ago—but we hadn’t been close enough to speak face-to-face.
All of that would change tonight.

I lightly landed on the roof at the back of the castle. The sea raged below me, nothing but dark water and sharp rocks at the bottom. Alastair landed farther back.
“Daman said Belphegor is in the library,”he told me.
“How are the others doing?”I asked.
“Bellamy is fucking three demons right now, and Galen and Raiden are killing others. Your father hasn’t seemed to notice yet.”
I nodded and knelt down, my gaze darting along the side of the fortress. There was no balcony, so I would have to swing down and go in through the window. I’d never been so happy to be tiny. The wind tugged at my wings, threatening to sweep me off the roof if I wasn’t careful. I tucked them back into my shoulder blades before leaning over the ledge and opening the window.
After crawling through, I crouched down in the room and stayed still. It was dark, but my keen vision wasn’t affected. I could see everything. I could hear too. The room was empty. I tuned in to my surroundings, picking up voices from down the hallway. I crept toward the door and cracked it open as softly as I could.
Two demons were approaching.
I drew my sword and waited. Crazy how so much time had passed since I’d last done this, but my body knew exactly what to do. Once the demons were close enough, I yanked them into the room and, in one clean swipe, decapitated them both. Their bodies hit the floor, heads rolling. Thunder boomed at the same time, covering up the sound.
Silently, I slipped from the room and closed the door behind me before moving down the corridor. Sconces glowed on the walls, so I kept to the shadows.
“Have you heard from Gustaf lately?” a deep voice asked.
I crouched in a corner as two more demons appeared. They had horns and tusks jutting past their lips. Mid-level demons if I had to guess.
“No,” the other responded. “He probably fell asleep again. Boss is goin’ to flay him alive.”
Gripping the hilt of my sword tighter, I took a deep, steadying breath. And then I sprung from the shadows, moving so quick they barely had time to blink before their heads were flying. Their tough skin was no match against my celestial blade.
I stashed the bodies in another empty room and kept moving. I needed to find my dad before someone noticed the blood. Though, it was only a matter of time before the demons Galen and Raiden were ripping apart downstairs would be discovered.
“The library is to your left,”Daman projected into my head. He must’ve been crouched down somewhere keeping an eye on me too.
“How many entrances?”
“Just the door and a locked window,”he answered.
