“Maybe I like to play hard to get.”
I pressed closer to his side, placing my mouth at his ear. “And maybe I like it.”
The sexual tension between us was heavy. Thick. I wanted nothing more than to drag him to the back room and strip off his clothes, letting my hands explore his toned body and—
“Dude!” a boisterous voice interrupted. My goddamn brother. Raiden threw his arm around Kyo’s neck. “Didn’t expect to see you here.”
“I’m not a regular,” Kyo responded, pulling farther away from me. “I just came for a good time.”
All that sexual tension vanished into thin air. I was going to kill Raiden. Stick a spike through him and roast him over an open fire. Knowing him, he’d probably try to eat himself. Barbeque was his favorite.
“Don’t you have somewhere to be, Raiden?” I asked, leveling a glare at him.
He exchanged a look between me and Kyo before grinning. “Oh. Am I interrupting something?”
“No,” Kyo said, amusement shining in his eyes. “I was just leaving.”
As he walked away, I longingly stared at his ass and downed half of my drink in one gulp. Oh, the things I could do to that ass. Squeeze it. Bite it. Slap it as I fucked him from behind. “I fucking hate you, Raiden.”
He put me in a headlock. “Ah, did mean old Raiden cockblock you, Cas? What you gonna do about it?”
I slapped at his beefy bicep. “Get off me, you big gorilla.”
“You’ve been hangin’ with Daman too long. That’s his line.” Raiden released me and tapped the counter to get Michael’s attention. He ordered an ambrosia cocktail. “I want one of those little umbrellas in it too. Make it fancy.”
Michael smirked. “I can do that for you.”
“Sweet.”
As if summoned by the mention of his name, Daman approached us. Glitter covered his bare chest, as did fresh bite marks. He liked to dance on the platforms, black wings on display. Men groveled at his feet. He could be such an attention whore sometimes, which was funny because when we were at home, he kept to himself. But at the nightclub, he came out of his shell and sought the spotlight.
“Hey, losers,” he said, resting his hip against a barstool. He held up a hand to Michael, who nodded and grabbed a wine cooler and popped the cap before sliding it over, along with a red vial. Daman poured the blood into the bottle and took a drink. “Shouldn’t you guys be at home? It’s past your bedtime.”
“Fuck you,” I muttered and looked across the room. A low growl rumbled in my chest as I spotted Kyo talking to a reaper named Holden. Standing awfully close to him too.
“Someone’s jealous.” Daman watched me with an amused tilt to his brow.
“No, I’m not.”
But goddammit, he was right. I hated that Kyo was blatantly flirting with another guy. Hated even more that it bugged me so much. I had no right to be jealous, especially since I’d banged Jasper earlier. But that was before Kyo showed up looking hot as hell and smelling like water lilies—just like the ones that used to grow around the edges of the lake behind my childhood home.
Kyo smiled over at me before continuing his little flirtation show, going so far as to touch the reaper’s arm.
“You’re not fooling anyone, Castor.” Daman glanced at Kyo. “Even without my power, you’re so damn obvious.”
As the avatar of Envy, Daman could sense the envious and jealous emotions in those around him. He could even strengthen those feelings in people for a short time, giving him a slightly villainous nature. Asshole or not though, he was my brother, and I loved him.
“I don’t even know Kyo,” I said. “He can flirt with and fuck anyone he wants to.”
“But you want him to fuckyou.”
“Whatever.” I closed out my tab at the bar and returned my card to my wallet. “I’m heading out.”
Before I left the club, I looked over at Kyo. His eyes were on me too. I nodded to him before walking outside.
My attraction to him was more physical than anything. He was strong, one hell of an awesome fighter, and gorgeous as fuck. A part of me was drawn to him though because of the night he saved me. Fighting together, almost dying, had formed a connection between us.
That was the only explanation I had for the pull I felt toward him.
