“What?” I asked.
He walked closer to me with a mischievous gleam in his gray eyes. “Is it true they make you wear a cock sock?”
I laughed and pulled him against me. Strange how we could be close to fighting one moment, and then everything was better in the next.
“Maybe I’ll tell you the next time I see you,” I said before lightly kissing him.
He deepened the kiss and placed his hand on my hip, tugging me forward. I groaned against his mouth, loving the taste of him. Shit, I was finding there was very little Ididn’tlike about him.
I wasn’t ready for him to leave. Once he did, this light feeling that made me feel like I could walk on air would go with him.
“And when will that be, Spartan?”
“Tomorrow night,” I answered without hesitation. “We can meet up once I’m done filming for the day.” I grabbed the phone from his hand and was about to add my number to his contacts, when I noticed it was already there. He must’ve added it after I’d called him the first day we’d hung out. “Call me around eight.”
“For a booty call?” he asked, wiggling his brows.
Dammit, those freckles.
“For dinner,” I corrected. “Andthena booty call.”
“Dinner?” He seemed genuinely confused. “But won’t that complicate things?”
“It’s just food, Freckles, not a marriage proposal,” I said, grinning at how adorable he looked. “I can wait until I eat first, though, if you don’t want to do dinner. I just don’t have time to eat until I leave the set, and I didn’t want to waste the time I have with you.”
His gray eyes searched my face before he stepped back. “Uh, I’ll probably have dinner plans with Brysen. But I’ll call you around eight. Or you can call me.” He was so awkward and unsure. “Have a good night.”
I stood there, slightly taken aback as he left the hotel room.
The suggestion for dinner hadn’t been anything romantic, but I could see how he’d want to reject the idea. In the past, I’d never had issues with keeping things low-key and casual. Kyler had my mind in a fog, though.
I jumped when there was a rapping on the door seconds later. I opened it to see Kyler on the other side.
“Miss me already?” I said with a half-smile.
“Totally.” He rolled his eyes before motioning to his body. “I forgot I’m in your clothes.”
“Yeah, and you look damn good in them, too.” Flirting with him came effortlessly. “Bring them back when you come over tomorrow. Or don’t bring them back. I don’t give a fuck.”
“Okay.” Kyler’s gray eyes narrowed with a playful look. “I’m keeping them then. Because the shirt is really comfy.”
“Uh huh.”
“And it smelling like you has nothing to do with it.”
“Sure, it doesn’t.”
“I’m leaving now,” he said, putting a hand on his hip.
“I see that.”
When he turned to leave, he nearly bumped into the column. He looked back at me, his freckled cheeks turning pink. “I knew that was there.”
“Of course you did.”
I smiled as I watched him walk down the hall to the elevator.
He had a hold on me no one else had ever had.
