Again, that jealousy flared to life, and I tried my best to keep it at bay.
“Sounds like Leo,” I said before I could stop myself. I shoved another chicken strip into my mouth afterward. Eating my feelings.
Leo looked at me, and something in his expression made me pause in my eating and perk up a bit.
“If it means anything,” Leo said, not taking his dark eyes off me. “I’m no longer interested in her. There’s someone else I’m after.”
Jacob, who sat there moving a confused gaze between us, suddenly had an “aha”moment. “You two are dating?”
“What? No,” I said.
While Leo simultaneously went, “Maybe.”
I shot him a look. “Pardon? No, we’re not.”
“Pardonyou, Frosty,” Leo countered. “My eyes are for you and you alone. Another part too… if you want it.” And yes, the last part was said with a wiggling of his eyebrows.
“You have eyes just for me, huh?” I challenged him. “Then, why were you checking out the waitress’ ass earlier?”
“I wouldn’t have done anything with her, silly,” he said in a flirty tone that made me want to both slap him and shove him against the wall and kiss him. “Did it make you jealous?”
“No,” I lied. “You can flirt with whoever the hell you want. Doesn’t bother me any.”
Jacob sat back in his chair, eyes wide, and grabbed his beer. He went to take a drink before realizing it was already empty and then signaled for another.
“I think you’re a liar.” Leo smirked.
I wanted to punch the look off his too perfect face.
Thankfully, the awkwardness faded as Jacob changed the subject. Bless him. He asked Leo about the assignment for their British lit class, to which Leo responded, “I don’t know. Haven’t looked at it yet.”
“It’s due Monday,” Jacob pointed out with a laugh.
“I’ll look at it Sunday then.” Leo shrugged. “What’s it over again?”
Oh, sweet Jesus. Leo was really something else. It was hard not to like him, though. He had thatthing.Charisma. Charm. A playful side that could promptly turn into seduction in a moment’s notice. A face that was both angel and demon.
One look into his eyes, and there was a promise of Heaven with a hard drop to Hell afterward.

Quiet. Too quiet. I lay in bed, tossing and turning, punching my pillow to fluff it, and trying to get comfortable. The problem wasn’t the bed, though, or the pillows. The problem was me. What I wanted to do.
On my back, I shoved the blanket off me and stared up at the ceiling, watching the shadows pass overhead as a car drove through the parking lot and its headlights momentarily shone into the otherwise dark room.
Our time with Jacob had been fun. They’d had several drinks, but I noticed Leo had paced himself, not drinking as much as I knew he probably wanted to. By the time we left Bricktown, it’d been nearly eleven-thirty. After dropping Jacob off at the freshmen residence, we’d parked in our lot and came up to our dorm.
Leo had kissed me once we’d come through the door. He’d gripped the collar of my shirt and pushed me against the wall, pressing his soft lips to mine. I’d moaned and kissed him back, running my hand down his spine before getting a nice handful of his ass. He’d tasted of beer and salt from the fries he’d eaten, but there was a unique spice to him, as well. One I craved with everything in me.
But then I’d pulled away, mumbled a quickgoodnight, and went to my room.
Pretty sure he was used to my weird mood swings by then, how I’d want him one moment, and then chicken out the next. And god how I wanted him. More and more each day.
A ping from my phone startled me, and I fumbled for it. It was a message from Chris.
Chris:Dooooo it. Give him the D.
I grinned before typing back a response.
