My stomach knotted, and I wanted to ask him not to have sex with anyone else. When I’d made that condition, it was because I suspected he’d have sex with other people anyway, so I might as well act like I was okay with it. But I was no longer okay with it, and the image of him moaning at someone else’s touch in the way he moaned at mine made me feel sick.
“Is Angel coming over?” he asked, checking his reflection in his phone’s camera.
“Yeah. We’re going to watch scary movies and pig out on candy.”
“Scary movies are great for cuddling,” Leo pointed out, putting his hand at my lower back and pulling me to him. I snarled at him, since he’d brought it up again, but he ignored my feistiness. He brushed his lips across mine, but didn’t make contact. “You know I like you, right?”
His question sort of came out of nowhere, and I looked up into his chocolate eyes and nodded. “I like you, too.”A lot.
Leo closed the gap between our mouths and kissed me, holding me closer to his body. It felt like more than a kiss… as though he was trying to say something without actually saying it. He pressed his lips to mine soft at first but then harder, and a small whine escaped his throat before he pulled away.
I stared at him, confused, and frankly a little worried. He was acting strange. Not like himself at all.
Then, he said he’d be home later and walked out the door, not giving me a chance to say a word. It didn’t occur to me until after he’d left that maybe the reason he was so set on me being with Angel was because he had plans of hooking up that night.
And that strange look in his eyes had been guilt, because he knew it’d hurt me.
