“I don’t need you,” I say softly. “I don’t need you, but I want you. I want you with every fiber of my being. We are two broken souls, two broken-hearted people who have been wandering the earth. Even up until this morning, Iworried. I thought—you’re rich and powerful, and I’m here and I have nothing. But that doesn’t matter.
“The healing that we have to do, the loving that we have to do—it has nothing to do with money. It’s just you and me, and two hearts that have been meandering along a path, waiting, hoping, desperately seeking solace. And we found each other. Through the gray, through the utter despair, through the rain, through the thunder, through the pain, the rejection, the heart—we found each other. And I’m here for you, Sebastian. Willow is here.”
He offers me the sweetest, most loving smile I’ve ever felt in my life. It warms me to my very core as he grabs my hand and presses his lips to the side of my face.
“I’ve never loved anyone quite like you. I didn’t even know this feeling was possible. And yet… now everything feels right in the world. I don’t know how to tell you this, but a weight has been lifted off my shoulders, off my heart. Your love is healing. Your love… is everything.”
He grabs my hands and pulls me into him. I sit on his lap and wrap my arms around his neck, kissing him. He’s warm to the touch, smelling like cedar and whiskey.
He runs his fingers down the side of my body, and before I know it, we’re pulling clothes off each other. His hands are all over me, mine all over him. Then we’re naked.
I slide onto his lap and push him back against the couch. He grabs my hands and pulls me closer. I feel him sliding between my thighs. I rub gently against him.
“Are you sure?” he asks. I nod softly. I guide him inside me and lower myself on top of him. My breasts press against his chest.
His hands go to the small of my back. He kisses me. I move slowly at first, then faster and faster, bouncing against him.
“I’ve needed you. I’ve wanted you. I’ve burned for you.And from the way you’re grunting and groaning, I know you’ve been wanting me too.”
“I love you, Willow. I love making love to you. I love being with you. I don’t want to lose you.”
“You will never lose me,” I say. I grab his face and kiss him passionately. He lifts me up and slams me back down on him. We moan, scream, and finally he explodes inside me. I come hard and fast.
We remain on top of each other, breathing heavily.
“Well… I wasn’t expecting that,” he says with a small smile.
“Neither was I.” But I’m not mad about it.
“Will you marry me, Willow?” he asks, and we both start laughing.
“I almost forgot we were still married,” he says, shaking his head.
“Am I crazy?”
“You’re not crazy. I think what’s crazy is I’m hearing a real proposal, filled with love, after I already married the man I love.”
“You want a real wedding?” he asks, eyes hopeful.
“Yes. A big one. Dress, gift registry, wedding cake, real honeymoon.”
“You can have it all.”
“Not in Vegas though?” I tease.
“I was awful. I’m sorry,” he says.
I press my finger to his lips. “Don’t look back. The past is the past. We live for the present and dream of the future. Let’s just take each day as it comes. Enjoy each day because that’s how we need to live life.”
He nods slowly. “How did I get so lucky as to meet and love someone like you, Willow Montgomery?”
“I don’t know. Howdidyou get so lucky?”
“I have a question for you,” he says.
“Oh no… not another question,” I groan.
“Would you have any interest?—”
