They all clapped me on the back before going their separate ways.
Once I got inside, Sally held her nose. “Ew, you stink to holy hell, Sheriff.”
Ignoring her comment, I asked, “Did you take care of that errand I requested?”
She smiled. “Yes.” She headed over to her desk, pulling out a small velvet box. Coming back over, she handed it to me. “It looks like new. It’s been sanitized and polished by the jeweler.”
“Thank you, Sally,” I said before heading out and back into my vehicle.
It didn’t take me long to arrive at Bonnie’s house. I practically raced up the steps, and the door opened before I had the chance to knock. Nova stood before me with her thick hair framing her heart-shaped face. My mouth watered with the desire to nibble, suck, and kiss every inch of her full lips.

Nova looked me up and down with wide eyes. “What happened?”

Nova wrapped her arms around my neck, clinging to me. “Well, that was hot.”
I lowered my head, whispering against her lips, “You ain’t seen anything yet. Wait until I get you home.”

“But first, I have something for you.” Stepping back, I reached into my front pocket, pulling out the velvet box, handing it to her.
Nova pulled it open. Inside was her pendant, on the new gold chain I’d purchased. Nova smiled, and my heart skipped a beat. This woman was beyond beautiful, and she was mine.
“Rhett… Thank you.” She wrapped her arms around my waist and squeezed.
I couldn’t believe that Luna, the goddess, had blessed me with such a beautiful—inside and out—woman. Nova was strong, caring, and intelligent, and for the rest of my days, I’d thank the universe for bringing her into my life.
“Anything for you.” I reached out, grazing the side of her cheek with the back of my hand. “Turn around. Let me put it on you.”
Nova did as instructed, holding up her hair while I fastened the necklace around her neck.
She turned back around. “Thank you,” she whispered before leaning up and pressing her soft lips against mine.
I cradled the back of her head, and our kiss was slow, hot, and delicious. Drawing her bottom lip into my mouth, I gently sucked until she moaned throatily.

Ready to make my dreams a reality, I broke off our kiss. “Let’s go home.” Weaving my fingers through hers, I ushered her down the stairs.

“I’ve got it,” Bonnie answered with lips split into a shit-eating grin while standing on the threshold. “Happy mating, you two.”
Nova waved at her before getting into my cruiser. Shutting her door, I ran over to my side, sliding behind the wheel.
Nova turned to stare at me. “Can you roll down the windows?”
“Why?” I asked.
She wrinkled her nose. “Have you smelled yourself?”
“I do smell pretty ornery.”
She laughed. “Very.”
