He turned to me. “Ella. Need heal… more. Need Wulfaen. Stay. No run.”

I arched a brow.Run from what?

I watched in fascination while he stripped off his loincloth and boots. The air around his big body seemed to shimmer with an almost imperceptible iridescence, and in that moment, Teken was gone and in his place was a huge silver wolf.

“Shit. This is some freaky shit,” I muttered, my heart racing like I’d just run a marathon.

He looked just as intimidating and big in wolf form with his powerful build, heavily muscled neck, and robust limbs.

He stepped forward.

I shrieked, throwing my arms out protectively. Then I stood frozen. I was afraid to move, afraid to breathe, and when the wolf made a hesitant move toward me, I shrank back, keeping my eyes fixed on him.

“No. Stay,” I said shrilly, pointing at the creature, trying to sound firm, though my heart was pounding in my chest.

The wolf stepped back, then sat down. He whined, cocking his head to one side and studying me. He was a big animal, but he didn’t seem inclined to attack me.

What are you talking about, Ella? This is Teken. He won’t hurt me.

I beckoned the wolf with my fingers. I laughed when he went down on his belly and began edging closer. He covered those last remaining steps between us, and then his pink tongue came out and washed over my fingers.

“Ew.”

I carefully stretched out my arm, letting just the tips of my fingers stroke his massive head. His fur was thick and shiny, silver just like Teken’s hair.

His Wulfaen is strong and beautiful.

Reminding me of Brax, he butted my hand gently with his massive head, pushing against my touch. He seemed to be encouraging me to stroke him with a firm pressure. I looked into the wolf’s intelligent eyes, and my heart missed a beat.

Fuck… I’m falling for him.

“Teken,” I croaked. “I need you not to be a wolf… I mean… Wulfaen right now.”

He seemed to understand my request. The air began to faintly shimmer, and then Teken the alien stood before me, breathing hard.

“Teken? Are you okay?”

He nodded.

Now I understood the difference between the “Gladiator”—the alien—and “Wulfaen”—the beast. Those were his two forms.

“So that is your Wulfaen?”

“Yes,” he acknowledged. “Ella no scared?”

I touched his cheek. “Ella no scared.”

Turning his head quickly, he pressed his lips against my palm.

My clit pulsed from his touch.Yep. I’m definitely starting to have feelings for him.Needing a distraction, I pulled away, then crouched to dig dutifully in his saddlebags, coming out with a few travel blankets and one of those silver cloths for cleaning.

He smiled, then took the cleansing cloth from me. I struggled to keep my eyes on his face as he started dragging the cloth all over his skin to cleanse himself.

Oh my. Oh wow.My mouth was suddenly dry as a bone, and my heart pounded in my ears. All of the aliens I had seen were built, but Teken raised the bar unbelievably.

I kept trying not to let my eyes wander but failed epically. He was not only sexually compatible with humans, but also damn hung by any standards.

His smooth skin was covered with faint scars, some showing only in a slight shift in texture and sheen, but they just enhanced his good looks and made him look like a total badass.
