"Harris." Paul went up to him and reached up to smack him on theshoulder.

"No." He smirked in my direction. "I think I have everything I need. Brooklyn, I'll be in touch when I have something toshowyou."
I nodded my head. I couldn't speak. I didn't trust my voice to come out soundingnormal.
"We'll look forward to seeing your ideas," Paulanswered.
I wanted to run to Harrison, drop to my knees, andapologize.
Instead, I watched him walk away with his broad shoulders slumped indisappointment.

I climbed in my truck and squealed the tires as I pulled away from the curb. I waved an apology to a nanny pushing a kid in a stroller across the street. She spat some Spanish cuss word at me andmovedon.
"Yeah, well,estupidoto you too," I said under my breath as I flexed and unflexed my fingers from the steering wheel. Who the fuck did that guy think he was, manhandling Brooklynlikethat?

I found a parking spot on the street near Justin and Seth's office, but I couldn't go in. I sent them both a text and went to the coffee shop across thestreet.
I spotted them both as I got three coffees and found a seat intheback.
"I've got another meeting in thirty minutes. Make this quick," Justin said, typing on hisphone.
Seth looked up at me and hit Justin on theshoulder.
Justin put his phone away and tookaseat.
"What's up, man?" Sethasked.
"How could she be married to that weaselly little prick?" My bodytensed.
"No," Seth said, elongatingtheo.
He and Justin shared a look andnodded.
