“But you deserve me.” She smiled with her corny ass.
“Corny ass.” I hopped out of the car and walked around her side.
“How was that corny? I said what I said,” she said the moment I opened her door for her to get out.
I laughed. “Bring yo’ ass. We could’ve gotten fucking pizza and called it a pizza party, but yo’ ass wanna get Greek potatoes and shit, knowing good and damn well yeen gonna eat shit but the chicken. Is that Greek too?”
She laughed like I cracked a joke, but I didn’t. I was dead serious, and she knew it. “Now that you mention it, yes, the chicken is also Greek.”
I chuckled and opened the door for her weird ass. Once she walked in, I walked in behind her. We were at this Greek restaurant that from the outside looked like nothing special. Inside, it was nice though. Too bad I couldn’t pay too much attention to it because my attention was on her and the way her work slacks were being devoured by her ass. Biting my bottom lip, I nodded my head in appreciation. I talked shit to Savior about trapping Regancy, but I was damn sure on the move to do exactly that to Lane. I could see her carrying my fifth son now.
“Did you hear me, Taurus?” Her voice cut through my thoughts.
“Nah. I didn’t. What did you say?” I questioned.
“Never mind. Do you think we?—”
“Lane, is that you?”
When I turned around to see who was talking to Lane, I smirked. This must’ve been her sweet ass ex. She had to know this nigga had something going on just by the way he looked. My eyes immediately went to Lane. She stood at the counter now looking back at the cashier. Baby was acting like she hadn’t even heard him say her name.
I crossed my arms across my chest and watched old boy shake his head before calling out to her again.
“Lane, you’ve blocked me and even had me barred from your building. The least you could do is hear me out.”
By this time, I was cracking up laughing. There was no way she thought this nigga liked pussy at any point in their relationship. I bet this nigga liked to be the small spoon and all.
“You owe me that much.” He put bass in his voice that time.
“Nah, she doesn’t owe you shit, lil’ homie.” I tilted my head to the side, wondering if he’d take that same tone that he gave her with me.
When he looked at me, his response was almost comical. “I don’t believe I was talking to you.” He popped his long ass neck and all.
“Taurus, babe, let’s go. We don’t have time for this. I still wanna go change before dinner.” Her voice was the same as when we walked in here. She ignored the fuck out of this nigga’s presence.
I nodded, deciding to not respond to old boy. As much as I would’ve loved to put my hands on him for trying to take some fake ass authoritative tone, I decide against it. Instead, I walked over and grabbed the trays of food that she had ordered.
Once I put everything in the back seat, I walked around and hopped into the driver’s seat. I glanced over in her direction, and she had a smirk on her face while she shook her head from side to side.
“I really think?—”
“That yeen know what you were doing before you met me?”
She laughed. “Don’t be big headed.”
“I definitely am already big headed and for good reason, but nah, baby, you can’t tell me that yeen know that man liked men.” I turned the car on and shifted to reverse.
She shook her head. “No, I really didn’t see it until?—”
“You ignored that shit. It’s cool. You made the right decision.” I winked at her, then focused on the rearview mirror to make sure there wasn’t anyone behind me.
She pursed her lips. “As if I had a choice. You know you can be very?—”
“And if you had a choice, it still would’ve been me because, baby, I’m the best thing since sliced bread.”
She busted up laughing, and I cut my eyes in her direction. Lane was right about one thing; she didn’t have a choice but to choose me. I had already made my mind up enough for both ofus. She was fucking stuck with me, and that was on Mary and the baby she had in that barn.
