“I don’t know what’s going on in that head of yours, but I love you, Savior. We love you and need you.”

He nodded his head never looking my way. “I love you too.”

SAVIOR

Luke called me and told me that Reggie had been shot. Pissed was an understatement. The truth was I was tired of being provoked, but I couldn’t react because of the side of the wall it was coming from. At this point, it was fuck all of that the impending shit. I was on the same grimy shit they were. The only problem was I had more to lose than these niggas. After I dropped Regancy off at home, I made a call. I mean, here I was, just finding out that I was about to get my first son, but I couldn’t even enjoy that shit or enjoy my woman, because niggas were hateful.

I instructed Beck to take me to my office, as I had some shit on my mind that I needed to let ride. I wasn’t even surprised that when I walked in, this nigga Taurus was sitting on the sofa to the left of my desk. He didn’t get the idea of laying low to heal, but I understood why. One of ours had just gotten hit, and it didn’t look good.

“They don’t think he’s gonna make it.” His statement alone exhaled anger from his wounded being.

I threw my head back in anguish. I’d known Reggie since he was a lil’ shorty, so this one definitely hit home. When I had niggas working for me, I never intended to have to attend their funerals or even foot the shit because none of what we did should’ve gotten anyone killed if done correctly.

“Andy dropped that folder off to me. Now my question to is do you still wanna play by the what-ifs and technicalities or?—”

“Nah. I already made that call.” I shook my head.

Seconds after I spoke, Reese appeared in my doorway, and behind him was his sister, Hanna. She was bad as a motherfucker and just as deadly as his ass. Usually, I paid them to pull the trigger, but today, I’d be paying them to snatch two motherfuckers up. This was a game of being untouchable, and I saw that now. Nobody in this city was untouchable if I wanted them touched.

I watched Taurus lay the photos of each agent on Caman’s team out until I spotted the ones that I wanted. “Today, we’re making examples. I want him and him in here by Friday morning if y’all can?—”

The sound of a woman’s heels walking down the hall got my attention. When I turned around, I spotted Mel. This broad just didn’t get it. “Uh, Savior, I need to talk to you. Our child needs things, and you’ve played house with that bitch and her bastard kid long enough.” She stood in the doorway looking around dumb as fuck.

“Aye, Hanna, I got about fifteen large for you to handle that so we can get back to business.” I cut my eyes in Mel’s direction before feasting my eyes back on the two motherfuckers known as Gerald and Evan.

“Bet. I’ll handle this one on the house. I didn’t get my cardio this morning” She took her jacket off and started walking in Mel’s direction.

When I looked back in Mel’s direction, I shook my head. She had dropped her bag and balled her fists up like she was ready to scrap with Hanna. I watched Hanna stick her ass one good time and then put my attention back on the plan I was mentally devising.

“All face shots too. Give her ass a clue,” I heard Taurus instruct.

At this point, I had tuned the ass whooping that Mel was now receiving all the way out. I was focused on Reese. “I want both of their asses by Friday morning. Then I want them hanging from the light poles directly in front of his house.” I pointed to Camen.

“That’s nothing. Do you wanna see them before he hangs?” Reese asked.

“Not Gerald. But lemme see Evan.” He was the one with all of the mouth.

“Bet. I’ll hit you up with where to meet me.”

I nodded, then turned around and looked at where Mel was still getting her ass whooped. If this wasn’t a sign that she needed to leave me the fuck alone and go find her real baby’s father, then I didn’t know what was. I didn’t put my hands on women. I wasn’t raised like that. I also wasn’t built to let my bitch do it, so I had no problem paying Hanna. She beat motherfuckers up and sent them to their makers for a living. This was a normal thing for shorty.

“Damn, baby girl. Yeen even try to protect yo’ face.” Taurus shook his head.

Finally, Hanna stepped off of her.

“How could you let her do this to me?” She was picking herself up and playing the victim.

“This nigga does not want you. So I’ma make you a promise. The next time I see him, if he so happens to mention ya name, I promise I’ma come see you.” Hanna crossed her hands across her chest. “Your best bet is to leave town because if he even tellsme that he saw you, I’ma be at your front door. Nod your head if you understand, mama.”

Mel nodded her head and used whatever strength she had to stand up straight. “Fine, I won—” Her sentence trailed off as Beck walked up. “My bad, boss. She told the worker up front that she needed to use the washroom.”

I nodded my head, dismissing Mel and whatever the fuck she was about to say. I had murder on my mind, and I’d be damned if I allowed small things to distract me.

“You know after this move they’re coming for you, right?” Reese asked.

“I want them to.” My eyes glossed over the photos. “Everybody needed to fall like a fucking domino, leaving no one standing. This shit has to take place in phases, so when it hits, it hits.” I glanced down at the photos again and then I pointed to Duce and his brother. “Phase two is both of them getting picked up and dropped off in a remote location.”

Reese laughed. “It’s something about the way you think. But I got you. What about him?” He pointed to Camen.
