“But?”

Sam crossed his arms, noticing me taking a peek below his waist. “Would you prefer we dressed?”

I nodded. “Actually, I would. It’s a little hard to concrete with four incredibly naked men standing in front of me.”

“Remove your clothes and join the club,” Mani said, garnering the ire of Sam and the others. “Sorry.”

“We have a place deeper in the woods if you’d like to join us?” Sam stayed where he was while the other three walked into the woods.

Join four naked, gorgeous men at their home? Nothing dangerous about that. “I should go back to the RV and find help.”

“Or, you could stay and help us.”

I shrugged. “What can I do to help you?”

“We’ve been watching and learning about you for the past few months while you and John came out to camp. You’re an attorney, yes?”

 I nodded. “So.”

“So we would like to offer you a trade. You represent our interest, and we give you all the things you’ve longed for.”

I almost laughed. “What makes you think you know what I long for?”

“You want to be loved and treated the way any woman wants to be treated. You’re not a materialistic woman and enjoy the simpler things in life. It’s why you come out here in the first place.”

 “You’ve been spying on me?”

“So that we could make you a proper offer.”

“Wait. You want me to live out here with the four of you? Where wild animals roam? Did you see the wolves that were about to eat me?” I glanced at the sky and noticed dawn tracing the eastern edge. The first night had gone relatively well.

“We were not about to eat you.”

“What?” I looked at him suspiciously and stepped back.

“It’s true,” he said. “It was us.”

 “You. You’re the wolves?”

 “Guilty.”

 “That’s not possible.”

“I spoke to you in your mind. And you replied.’

“How’s it even possible? Men don’t turn into animals.”

Sam placed his hands over the fire. “We should go. It’s not safe for us to be out when daylight comes.”

“None of this makes any sense. Aren’t you afraid John’s going to bring back help?”

“We both know that’s not true. He won’t come back. Though at any time, we are willing to bring him back for punishment. He was mean to you and should face the consequences.”

“No. He’s gone for good. I want it that way.” I studied Sam’s face for a moment, making it a point not to let my eyes drop. I noticed him watching the eastern sky. “Why should I trust you and the others?”

“Because if we wanted you dead, or worse, that could have already happened. We should go.” Sam started away again, but I wasn’t done.

“Why should I help you? Because you saved me from John?” I actually didn’t need help with that.
