The guy next to me moves away, that’s when my eyes catch sight of who’s standing near the counter three stools away. The one man I cannot stop thinking about.

Fucking Kaiden Donnelly.

He hasn’t spotted me yet, but I can clearly see the delicious way his ass swells to meet his toned thighs in those low-rise jeans. It should be illegal. How does he look that good in such plain clothes? His overall look is messy and casual. His blond hair high in a ponytail and he’s sporting a hot-pink V-neck shirt that hugs his toned back in all the right places. Adding my bright red shirt with his whites in the washing machine didn’t work as I hoped. I wanted to get back at the frustrating moron. But instead of looking ridiculous, the bright color actually accentuates the tattoos on his skin and the light golden strands waving with every slight movement of his head.

He looks hot as hell. And he’s flirting—with a short, curly-haired guy.

His laugh reaches me and my hand tightens around the glass. Since yesterday, I’ve been keeping a physical distance from him. Not an easy task when my body is urging me to take more from the guy.

And that’s exactly why we need to go back to…normal. If things went south—and they surely would—it could get messy living in the same building. And with our prank war going on…I’m thinking nuclear-bomb messy. The only possible way to go is to chalk the hot experience up to a one-time thing and move to the next one.

Maybe I should do just that. I turn my head and look straight at the small dance floor where some people are dancing. I’ll finish this whisky and leave. Possibly with someone interested in sucking my dick.

Kaiden suddenly moans and my eyes snap back to him. My body doesn’t relax though, not even when I realize his sound of enjoyment is coming from the peanuts he’s eating. Because memories of his sexy whimpers and blissed face are bombarding my brain now. It takes everything I have not to grab a fistful of his hair and give my frustration the real outlet I need. To remind him of what happened yesterday, since, with the way he’s acting, I can honestly believe he’s forgotten.

Lost in my thoughts, I don’t notice him turning toward me.

“My arch nemesis is here.” He smiles too sweetly at me.

I give him an unimpressed look. “Are you a villain from a B movie?” I quip, feeling annoyed by him and the whole situation.

“No. I’m Sheldon Cooper,” he replies with a huff at the end.

“The genius?” I snigger. “Oh, you’re serious.”

He crosses his arms and narrow his eyes at me. I got to admit I really enjoy provoking him, rattling his cage.

“Like the fancy rats in your house.”

I growl at his retort and he takes a challenging step toward me in response.

I match it. “Like the ridonkulous cross covering your door.”

He hisses, reminding me of a cute kitty. “Like the stupid stubble on your chin,” he snaps back, staring at my coarse hair.

“Like that useless piercing on your tongue.” I look at his lips, remembering the sexy metal bar. What would it feel like wrapped around my tongue? My cock?

“Don’t forget my nipples,” he whispers sultrily. My eyes automatically glance down, but it’s his neck that holds my attention. I remember how good it felt to have my hand around it, his pulse running frantically under my palm. The way he let me be in charge.

We are face to face. A few inches between our bodies. The temperature has risen around us, and I can see the scorching heat burning inside me reflected in his gaze.

My meat plumps in my pants and my fingers tingle with the urge to grab him and…

“Grrr. Your friend can come to my place, too.” I completely forgot about the guy Kaiden was flirting with. I turn stiff at the invitation, and at the sight of his small hand on Kaiden’s bicep.

“Not his friend,” I say drily while still looking at Kaiden.

He frowns for a second, almost like he didn’t like my words. I internally snort at the thought. Because it’s nonsense. Kaiden doesn’t care about what I say. And we certainly aren’t friends.

Soon enough, his face relaxes, and a small smirk quickly tilts his lips. “Sorry. Unfortunately, Lucifer doesn’t like to have fun.” He turns his head toward the guy.

“Pity.” The curly guy sighs, looking longingly at me. But then he perks up, switching to Kaiden again. “Well let’s go, then.”

Am I imagining the hesitation in Kaiden’s eyes? It doesn’t matter, because when I see him opening his mouth to respond, my instincts prevail. I grab him by his nape and turn him away from the guy.

“Not tonight,” I inform him and then drag a surprisingly silent Kaiden toward the bathroom. I push him inside and lock the door behind us.

He turns toward me with a smug look on his face. “Jealous? Don’t be, there’s enough of me for everybody.”
