“That’s great. I might have Logan spend the night with me just so I feel comfortable and safe. Did you see his new bike? He took me on the test drive today, and that thing flies. And the color is gorgeous.”
“Yes, I did. I couldn’t pull Andy away from it. He really felt like he needed to get rid of his bike because of Trina, me, and the gym. But I know that he really misses it.”
“I know that he could rent a bike; maybe that is a short-term option. I will talk to Logan about that and see what he comes up with. After the baby is born, and you need a break, the two of you could go for a long weekend somewhere on a bike.”
“He has thought about that as well, just not enough time on his schedule, but maybe between you, me and some of the other members, we could work something out. That would be a fun surprise on our anniversary, don’t you think? We can talk after the baby is born, but thank you for thinking of us.”
I can see how excited she is getting, and I am going to ask Logan to help me make it happen when Kenzie is ready.
Kenzie leaves, and I finish cleaning up the dishes. I grab my phone to see that I missed a text from Logan. He has requested me to put on some jeans and grab a light coat and come down for a ride on the bike. Ecstatic, I change, put on my boots, and grab a jacket. As I am coming out of my apartment, I run into Susan.
“Hey Susan, is there something I can help you with? I was just headed out.”
“I just came up to see how you are doing. Did you see the studio? It looks like nothing ever happened in there, don’t you think?”
“It looks fantastic. Can we walk while we talk? I must get downstairs. Logan is taking me for a ride on his new bike that he picked up today. Did you see it?”
In a very bitchy voice she replies, “Yes, I did see it. It’s all the guys are talking about.”
Well, we don’t need an attitude about it, but whatever stick is up her ass can stay there. I have plans with a very hot Texan, and I can’t wait to get out there.
As we both exit the building, Logan is waiting by the bike talking with Blake. I think Blake is a bigger bike fanatic than Logan. I have heard that he has about six bikes of all different models. He likes to collect them. I guess when you aren’t married and make good money, you have to spend it on something. Logan told me he would take me over there sometime to check them out. Now I have to do some research on bikes. I never really gave them a second thought until now.
Logan
After the guys check out the bike, the only person who stays behind is Blake, and we discuss Brian coming in tonight to install the additional cameras. Blake and Andy discussed it earlier when I was out with Gia, and Andy asked that Blake bring me up to speed.
The back door of the gym opens, and out walks Susan and Gia. Susan makes a B-line for her car, and Gia strolls over to where Blake and I are standing.
“Hey Gia, I hope you enjoy your ride tonight. Have fun,” Blake says and then nods to Logan and gets in his truck and leaves.
“You ready, Beautiful?”
“I am, is what I am wearing going to be okay?”
“You look perfect. Hop on and let’s ride.”
We take the long way to Thoroughbred Park and then park the bike to take a walk. There are a few people around, but the park is big enough to feel like you are the only people there. Gia grabs my hand as we walk. Gia tells me about her conversation with Kenzie about wanting to surprise Andy by renting a bike for a long weekend for their anniversary, which is about three months after the baby is due.
“I will talk to Blake. I’m sure he wouldn’t mind loaning one of his to Andy for a long weekend.”
After about forty-five minutes, we return to the bike, and I grab her and kiss her with all my heart.
“I love you Gia, my life has changed so much in the last few months, for the better.”
“I love you too Logan, all the stars aligned just for us.”
“What do you want to do for dinner, Beautiful?”
“I don’t know; why don’t you surprise me?”
I really want to show off this bike, so I decide to take her to my old hangout where we first met. When we arrive, there are a ton of bikes parked in front of the bar. I recognize a few of them, looks like Blake, Mason, and Butch are here. Maybe this wasn’t such a great idea. I know that these guys never bring a woman here, and I am rethinking my decision. I tell Gia maybe we should go somewhere else, and she tells me it will be fine.
As we walk into the bar, Gia veers to a booth in the corner, and then I hear squealing. That is the only word I can think of that it sounds like. I look over to see Gia hugging her friend Sara. I am glad she is here. I know she doesn’t like me, but one of these days I will get her to change her mind. With Gia preoccupied, I walk over to the bar where the guys are sitting and order one of my favorite beers from the Blue Stallion Brewery. All their beers are traditional German ales and lagers. I haven’t had a beer that they sell that I didn’t like.
“So, Gia shared with me that after the baby is born, Kenzie wants to surprise Andy by renting a bike for a long weekend for their anniversary,” I tell the guys.
Before I can say anything else, Blake pipes up. “I have the perfect bike for him to use. Tell Kenzie we have her covered. I just need to know the dates and have it in the parking lot to surprise him.”
