Mario and I go around the front of the gym. He unlocks the door with his keys, and we both sit on the couch in the front area of the gym.

“Gia, do you want a cup of tea or something?”

“That is sweet, but something stronger is in order right now.”

“I wish I could help with that, but unfortunately you know there is nothing like that in the kitchen.”

We sit in silence for about thirty minutes. When Logan and Butch come through the front door, I get up and run to Logan, and he grabs me, and I wrap my legs around his waist.

“Shh, Beautiful, everything is fine. Your place is okay; we can stay there tonight, or we can go to a hotel,” he tells me as he looks to Butch.

“I would prefer you go to a hotel. You can go up and get some things to get you through tomorrow. The arson investigator willbe here around 9:00 a.m. tomorrow. Are you cool with that, man?” he asks Logan.

“If that’s what you think, we can do that,” Logan tells him, and then we walk up to get some things from our respective apartments.

He waits at my door while I pack a few items for about two days of being away. We then go into his apartment, and his kitchen is totaled. The guys were very careful when they put the fire out, looks like it might have been more smoke than fire. The rest of the apartment seems to be okay, just some smoke damage. After grabbing some stuff, we both go downstairs.

At the bottom of the steps are Kenzie and Andy. My heart goes out to them; three different issues in three months must be weighing on them.

“Gia, I am so glad you were able to get out of the apartment when you did. I can’t understand what is going on here, but we have to get to the bottom of it. Where are you two staying tonight?” Kenzie asks.

“We are probably going to a hotel for a few days. Butch said that the arson investigator will be here around 9:00 a.m. tomorrow. I have front desk duty tomorrow, so I’ll be here when he arrives,” I tell her.

“We won’t have you guys staying at a hotel. You can stay in the guest room, and I am sure Trina wants to see that her Uncle Logan is okay,” Andy says.

“Man, are you sure you want us there? It seems trouble is following Gia and me,” Logan states.

“I am absolutely positive, you two will stay with us. Here is the key. Head over and get comfortable. Kenzie and I will be another hour or so,” Andy tells us.

Logan and I both go to the parking lot behind the gym. Obviously, we can’t take the motorcycle with our bags, so I head over to the truck. Logan opens the door and then asks if I can drive the truck and follow him to Andy and Kenzie’s place. After the shit that went down today, I can see why he wouldn’t want to leave his bike anywhere near this place. I nod, and he lifts me up into the truck. I start the truck and move the seat so I can reach the pedals. His legs seem to go on forever, and there is no way I could drive the truck where the seat is currently at.

I watch Logan put the bags in the back of the truck and then head over to his motorcycle. He starts it, and then we slowly pull out of the parking lot and head to Andy and Kenzie’s place.

We open the front door and head to the guest room. Not sure where Trina is, but I am exhausted. Being woken up the way I was, I could use a week of sleep. But I know that isn’t happening. Logan gets into bed and pulls me close, and I immediately give in to sleep.

My phone alarm goes off, and I look at it, 5:00 a.m. I feel like I just went to sleep. I turn over, and the other side of the bed is empty. I get up and walk to the bathroom. After washing my face, I go back to the bedroom and change into my clothes I packed last night.

I hear talking in the kitchen downstairs, so I head down there to see if I can get a cup of coffee. Before I turn the corner, I hear Andy and Logan talking about the fire. Logan assured him he didn’t leave anything on in his kitchen because he never cooks.

I decide to let myself be known as I come around the corner and quietly wish them both a good morning. Logan smiles and turns around and makes me a cup of coffee. He leads me to the table, and the three of us sit down.

“Gia, Logan and I were just getting ready to review the footage; do you want to be included in this?” Andy asks.

“Yes please, I am hoping that we can figure out what is going on,” I tell him.

As the three of us sit at the table, coffee in hand, Andy logs into the cloud to watch the footage. The video picks up someone in all black, and the hood is up on their hoodie. So, this was intentional. Logan swears under his breath and then gets up to get another cup of coffee.

“Andy, you know what this means. Someone is out to get me, and I have no idea who I pissed off. If Mason wasn’t cleaning equipment late last night and had not heard the alarm go off, that fire could have spread to Gia’s apartment, and she could have died from smoke inhalation.”

“Gia, didn’t you hear the alarm last night?” Andy asks.

“No, I was exhausted, more than usual. I might have drunk a little more at Sara’s than I should have, but I normally can hold my wine.”

“What exactly did you do when you got home?” Andy asks.

“ Exactly? I walked to the fridge, took out a bottle of water I had in there, drank what was left in the bottle, washed my face, brushed my teeth and then hit the bed. If Mason hadn’t been pounding on the door, I probably would have never woken up,” I tell him.

“Do you still have the bottle that you drank from last night?” Logan asks.
